Florida Native Mom: My Pool is Hopping!
http://nativemom.blogspot.com/2012/07/my-pool-is-hopping.html
Monday, July 2, 2012. My Pool is Hopping! Then along comes Cabana Carl. His price was great - less than what I spent on chemicals last month. But what sealed the deal was MiniMe who said "Hire him Mom! As she peaked through the windows swooning. "So Cabana Carl," I said. "When can you start? No, I replied. It's not very hot today. "I hope next Wednesday there's a heatwave! She exclaimed as she ran off to try and get pictures of the boys with her iPhone without them spying her. July 2, 2012 at 12:08 PM.

Florida Native Mom: Random Things
http://nativemom.blogspot.com/2012/07/random-things.html
Thursday, July 19, 2012. No particular topic today. Anyone reading 50 Shades of Gray? MiniMe and her friends have been in the pool a lot this week. Here's a tip - don't spend the money on a camera that is touted as waterproof. My teenager took her video camera, put it in a Ziploc bag and got clear footage underwater. Try it. (Bad for Kodak, great for Ziploc brand! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ormond Beach, Florida. View my complete profile. Mini-Me (my 13 yr old daughter). New Smyrna Beach Mom.

Florida Native Mom: Reality Show Squared
http://nativemom.blogspot.com/2012/10/reality-show-squared.html
Monday, October 1, 2012. Hello, my name is Native Mom and I'm addicted to TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress.". First let me say I hate reality shows. Second, I'm kinda getting sucked in to watching episode after episode of TLC's Say Yes to the Dress. This is a show where young ladies bring their families along to find the perfect wedding dress at several different upscale wedding dress shoppes across the country. And did I mention the budget? 5,000 for a wedding dress? Don't take the advice of your bridesmaids...

Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Being my friend means there's a good chance you'll be written about here at some point. Just sayin'. Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Red Ribbon Week - It isn't always what you think. I asked MiniMe if she had a Twin for the day. No basically I'm a loner.". You've got plenty of friends! None of them wanted to dress the same with you? No, no one wanted to be my twin.". His name is Thor? Well maybe, since he's high, he misunderstood what Red Ribbon Week was all about. Yesterday my fr...

Florida Native Mom: August 2011
http://nativemom.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 26, 2011. What does your family look like? Stuck in the parent drop off loop this morning at MiniMe's school, we're behind one of those cars that has their family represented in stickers across the back window. I say to MiniMe, "You'll never see stickers like that on my car. I guess I'm just not that kind of mom.". Which gave me the giggles! Tuesday, August 23, 2011. The reason I think this is because she used to play hide and seek with her guinea pig. When she was about 2 years old, I got...

Mad Beach Maven: November 2009
http://madbeachmaven.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Maven: (Yiddish), "One who accumulates knowledge". Sunday, November 15, 2009. I'd like to introduce you to . . . From a break in the gate I saw a face. So I talked some more. And she answered each time, but was too timid to come to me. The next day I brought a can of Dixie's food to work and set some on a dish by the gate. Out popped her head and she immediately wolfed down every morsel - and allowed me to pet her head. Well, we made it home. And, so far, she has decided she likes it here. I thin...I hav...

Maven: (Yiddish), "One who accumulates knowledge". Sunday, April 19, 2009. Shingles (not the kind on your roof! The second thing she said was "don't touch it, it's contagious" - to which I said "oh, now you tell me" - because I had been touching and rubbing the sore spots for three days! But, I'm feeling much better now. Almost all of the crusty, scabby places on my faces have just about fallen off, and the pain is pretty much gone. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Here's an update on the "garden". I saw...

Florida Backyard Gardening Blog: Backyard Bird Feeder
http://floridabackyardgarden.blogspot.com/2009/06/backyard-bird-feeder.html
Florida Backyard Gardening Blog. Saturday, June 6, 2009. Linda has been urging me to set up the camera on a tripod and use the remote control to take some bird photos for weeks now. Last week she set it up herself with pretty good results. A faster lens would have taken even better photos, but for complete shade and a slow 300 mm 4 - 5.6 lens I thought these turned out well. I spent five minutes on Photoshop and came up with this "cleaned up" version of the 3rd photo above. Posted by The BBQ Guy.
