Gardening with E

Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Well, folks we have been busy! Sorry about the long break, but E and I are only home on the weekends which makes it hard to get stuff done and blog. Honestly, I thought I'd have more time to blog this summer but it just hasn't happened. Soooo. here is a lil update, and we promise it won't be long until we are back to regular updates again. Anyway, our lettuce grew and was eaten ;). Our grape plant has grapes on it this year! We are so excited! Links to this post. What is crazy is...

Gardening with E: January 2014

http://gardeningwithe.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 31, 2014. Garden Plan- Side of House. First up is the end closest to the back. We planted cucumber and though they are small here they certainly grew! In fact, they outgrew our little red trellis and clung to the window screen (thus you notice that for 2014 they are moving to the back where we will use a much taller system). Since the picture doesn't look like much (and is probably a little confusing) here is the key:. Yellow circle- Pineapple Tomato. Dark green circle- Bell Pepper. We th...

Sunday, May 25, 2014. We are so very excited that we have finally been able to successfully grow peas! We have tried several times and failed. but this year we have been victorious! What is crazy is that we took this picture last week- I know we've been so busy with the end of year hoopla and me getting ready to work away during the summer we hadn't posted much lately. Anyway, they have grown taller and fuller in just one week. We hope that everyone has been doing well and that your gardens are growing!

Gardening with E: Peas

http://gardeningwithe.blogspot.com/2014/04/peas.html

Monday, April 14, 2014. So, as we mentioned in our update the other day our pea tower is not doing well. On the bright side our in ground peas are popping up. We attached gardening twin lines so they could grow up them. We shall see if it works :). Yesterday mom planted some new seeds in between the pea plants growing so hopefully there will be time for a succession crop. It has been getting warm so we are not sure if they will be able to withstand the Southern heat. Labels: gardening with kids. I was no...

Gardening with E: December 2013

http://gardeningwithe.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Wintersown Update- Tomato Seeds. Winter Sown Seed Update- Tomato Seeds. As promised- here is the update on the tomato seeds we received from www.wintersown.org. It is a PDF from the Agricultural and Natural Resources Coop Extension in Santa Clara County. It discusses a fermentation process, which is different than the cleaning method in the Wintersown pamphlet. I suggest looking at several processes and picking the one that suits you best. On to the seeds:. Snow White Cherry- ...

Random Musings of a Farmer: Digging Deeper

http://webbfamilyfarms.blogspot.com/2013/10/digging-deeper.html

Random Musings of a Farmer. Thursday, October 17, 2013. For those of you who didn't know already, Melissa, Carter and I moved to a home we built on our Lynnville farm a few weeks ago. Moving always seems to come with and create it's own uproar and this moved proved the rule in spades. That said, we are beginning to settle from frantic and frenetic into a more comfortable rhythm as our routines begin to stabilize. Congrats on the new house! Your blog is a bit easier to keep up with ;-). A Year With Horses.

From Seed to Shelf

From Seed to Shelf. Gardening. Preserving. Storing. Sharing. Wednesday, November 3, 2010. I fell in love with herbs many years ago – growing them, smelling them, and finding delicious ways to use them. I assemble my clean vinegar jars and use a plastic funnel lined with coffee filters to strain the vinegar. I put a few sprigs of fresh herbs in the finished bottle, attach a label, and seal with a cork. Voila! Beautiful jars of herb vinegar ready for gifts or my own cooking experiments. Although its a temp...

Reviewing The Landscape With Eddie

Reviewing The Landscape With Eddie. Saturday, February 7, 2015. Here, a picture of this stone was taken from our car in the middle of the day. There is no where to stop and get out to get a better visual of what it exactly says, and if you know the area you might not want to get out of the car. So we snapped a couple of photos and we did the best we could. As you can see there is. Good Luck as Always,. Links to this post. Saturday, January 24, 2015. Gators In The Garden

Gators In The Garden. Is there even a remote chance that you could find a gator sunning next to your gardenia? Do Live Oaks and Spanish Moss provide a deep, shady canopy over your azaleas? Then you garden in a climate similar to the ones we love to cultivate, visit, and photograph around Charleston, SC. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Checking weather records for the previous week the coldest temp was 23 degrees a few days earlier, not enough to cause the new damage. I can speculate that it may have been ...

Gardening with Gladys

A "professional" amateur with a love and knack for creating beautiful and lasting gardens and flower beds in Edmonton. Tuesday, 5 June 2012. Now that I've got the majority of my flowers, I can begin planting them. I will, however, keep popping in to the Garden Centres to see what's new. One can never have enough, and I don't usually stop until the Garden Centres are gone for the season. I started with my garden. Tomato plants, okra, and peppers go along the fence, so they can get the most sun. He...The r...
