Garden Notes for Relocalisation

Thursday, May 3, 2012. I just came across this great little guide for identifying and treating disease and infestations in fruit and nut trees. From here. Links to this post. Sunday, April 15, 2012. While there's still warmth in the soil I thought I'd sow direct these heirlooms into our newly revamped produce area. In winter it is a sun trap until about 2pm. Row one (closest to the house). Before I sowed I turned over the soil with dolomite lime and blood and bone. Links to this post. In our house if we ...

Garden Notes for Relocalisation: Our third year summer produce garden

http://gardennotesforrelocalisation.blogspot.com/2011/02/our-third-year-summer-produce-garden.html

Thursday, February 17, 2011. Our third year summer produce garden. All the effort we put into the soil over three years, although especially over the last winter and early spring. Is now coming to fruition. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I live outside Melbourne, Australia on a quarter acre permaculture plot with my girlfriend Meg Ulman. And son Zephyr. Together, as Artist as Family. NB My Garden Notes for Relocalisation blog accompanies the more theoretical blog Permapoesis. View my complete profile.

Garden Notes for Relocalisation: Moon planting experiment

http://gardennotesforrelocalisation.blogspot.com/2011/07/moon-planting-experiment.html

Saturday, July 16, 2011. I know very little about planting by the moon, except for avoiding any planting after a full moon for about a week. So I decided to conduct an experiment. I planted about 50 onions on the eve of the full moon (yesterday). You can't see them in the below peg because they're still so small. I also planted leek, coriander, parsley, lettuce, cabbage and kohlrabi in this patch. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). And son Zephyr. Together, as Artist as Family. View my complete profile.

Garden Notes for Relocalisation: A greenhouse built with reclaimed materials

http://gardennotesforrelocalisation.blogspot.com/2010/04/greenhouse-built-with-reclaimed.html

Thursday, April 15, 2010. A greenhouse built with reclaimed materials. Frost season is nearly upon us. So cladding the greenhouse has been a priority. However not wanting to rack up my hardware account or buy new materials, I've been patiently waiting for an alternative to arrive. Today I was able to clad, or rather semi-clad, the greenhouse. After I finished installing the laser light I planted celery, pak choy, mini cauliflower, leek and cabbage underneath. May 9, 2010 at 1:16 AM. These are wonderful t...

A few weeks back I packed up a bunch of seedlings, strapped ’em to the back of my bike with an old rubber tube, and headed down to Surry Hills for the Artist as Family’s “Food Forest Plant-In-Day”. Daylesford Harvest Swapmeet: Welcome

http://daylesfordharvestswapmeet.blogspot.com/2010/03/welcome.html

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. I've just set up this blog so I have somewhere to post pictures of all the great looking produce that people have been bringing to the swapmeets lately. Daylesford Harvest Swapmeet is held at Perfect Drop, 5 Howe Street in Daylesford. We meet once a month on the second Saturday during the warmer months of the year. This year we have two more swapmeets coming up. The next will be on Saturday 10th April, followed by the last for this season on Saturday 8th May. Swap excess herbs,...

Rick's U.K. Garden Year

Rick's U.K. Garden Year. Rick's U.K. Garden Year. Gardening in Cheshire at the foot of the Pennines in the North West of England for over 50 years currently in both damp and dry shade. Meconopsis, primulas and woodlanders are the main interest in a completely informal cottage garden/woodland area surrounded by trees. Garden Notes from Leaning Oaks

Garden Notes from Leaning Oaks. Ramblings of a gardener on southern Vancouver Island, trying to garden in rocky soil with no deer fence. Sunday, June 7, 2015. Shed with a DIY Living Wall and Living Roof. Small shed with living wall and roof. After a bit of searching on line and at local nurseries, I decided that a do it yourself (DIY) living wall was going to have to be the way we went, since the commercially available units were prohibitively expensive.
