Assembled Hazardly: May 2015
http://www.assembledhazardly.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
The last four or five months has been kind of nuts. If 2015 is any indication of the rest of my life, I think I'll be needing a permanent Vitamin B pump and a ginseng tube (or speed maybe? Either way, I've been finding it hard to slow down and almost had a crazy nervous breakdown a few weeks ago from working/un-procrastinating about 100 hours a week. Don't get me wrong, I am. Would a Bugaboo work better than a $150 Graco stroller from Target? I'm sure it would. Is it necessary? I keep getting these comme...

Assembled Hazardly: Addendum
http://www.assembledhazardly.com/p/2-tbsp.html
I've recently discovered a much better recipe for my homemade oil cleanser that requires virtually no washcloth or steaming. This may not be an oil cleanser in the truest sense, but I find the texture much more appealing, and the effect is absolutely divine. Since no wash cloth or steaming is required, I find it's very gentle on my sensitive skin. I used Penns Hill castile soap. 2 tbsp. organic, cold-pressed rice bran oil. 2 tbsp. organic, cold-pressed camellia sinensis oil. 2 tbsp. organic castor oil.

Assembled Hazardly: The FW'14 Capsule and a mini rant on Minimalist Wardrobes
http://www.assembledhazardly.com/2014/09/the-fw14-capsule-and-mini-rant-on.html
The FW'14 Capsule and a mini rant on Minimalist Wardrobes. I meant to write a long post about how I find that there are so many different variations of what a "minimalist wardrobe" means that it's rather exhausting trying to suss out how and why you should own a minimalist wardrobe (inspired in part by this thread. The funny thing though, was eventually I realized I couldn't have too tiny a wardrobe because I needed all these other things that made my hobbies and work more pleasant. I certainly could...

Assembled Hazardly: Packing light: Tropical Vacation Edition
http://www.assembledhazardly.com/2014/12/packing-light-tropical-vacation-edition.html
Packing light: Tropical Vacation Edition. A real testament to minimalist living is when you're forced to pack right before leaving for a week of vacation and right after. I would pick Anguilla in a heartbeat. Our 5 day trip was spent eating delicious albeit expensive seafood, drinking heavily-spiked rum punches and laying around on Shoal Bay. Whilst being treated like royalty by our the wonderful Robin and her crew at Las Esquinas - a boutique bed and breakfast. Las Esquinas at sundown. Photo by Asse...

Assembled Hazardly: January 2014
http://www.assembledhazardly.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
I need to finish this last leg of my dissertation and have made the New Year's resolution to abstain from procrastinating on the Internet. I'll be back in about six months with hopefully a more positive attitude and a bunch of cynical stories to share. Wish me luck. ETA (01/23/14): Last year, this blog made $127.55 through affiliate linking. Once I receive payment, it will be going to the Oregon Dachshund Rescue in the name of Readers of Assembled Hazardly. Thanks everyone! Saturday, January 11, 2014.

Wardrobe Dreaming: The Young Girls by the Sea
http://www.wardrobedreaming.com/2013/05/the-young-girls-by-sea.html
Sunday, May 12, 2013. The Young Girls by the Sea. The Young Girls by the Sea, Vogue Italia - Steven Meisel 1997. As part of my job, I spend a lot of time doing fashion research. I feel lucky enough to come across some excellent stories I am too young to have seen the first time around. This story by Meisel happens to be one of my most favorite, so I thought I'd share. The rest of the story is after the jump. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thank you, ok. Through a Glass Darkly.
