How to find us. Are mostly hiking, but we can also guide you by other means of transport. We hike through the hardly touched Icelandic nature, mostly cross country but sometimes on a narrow sheep track, without any signs or path. The hikes have different levels of difficulty, but you always need a good pair of hiking shoes and should be surefooted.

How to find us. Our guesthouse is situated right outside the village of Hvolsvöllur. Here, you can find all necessary services, i.e. supermarket, restaurant, petrol station, post office, bank, physician and more. Hvolsvöllur is the perfect place to explore Southern Iceland. Only 2 hours drive from the international airport in Keflavík, you will find yourself in the heart of Southern Iceland, from where many of the main attractions of the South are easy to reach. How to find us. At Garðsauki guesthouse are Jón Logi Þorsteinsson and Christiane Leonor Bahner. Growing up in the town of Selfoss, Jón Logi spent his summers on his grandparents farm Vestri-Garðsauki. In the late 80’s, he moved to the farm himself and started his own business. He went to the Icelandic agricultural college at Hvanneyri and attended a swedish agricultural school later on.

Neues aus Island

Wednesday, January 15, 2014. So schnell kann´s gehen! Gestern abend hatte ich Sóley zwei Stück Schokolade überlassen, die sie sich für heute aufheben wollte, weil sie sich schon die Zähne geputzt hatte. Die Schokolade lag auf dem Küchentisch. Anscheinend hatte Sóley heute früh eines davon verdrückt, denn nach der Abfahrt des Schulbusses war nur noch ein Stück übrig. Kommt als Antwort ein Muffeln: "Aver fie ift doff in derv Sfule.".
