The good food guide for Canterbury and other places we have been. Saturday, 21 February 2009. Lunch bite at The Chapter Arms. If you go for a walk with me around the Kentish countryside it will involve a pub. On this particular Saturday we decided to walk, from Canterbury, to Chartham (Hatch) and back. It just so happens that about the half way point (as if by design) is The Chapter Arms. Hungry and thirsty it was time to stop and refuel! Oh, and the beer was good as well. This Wednesday night we decided to take advantage of the latest Pizza Express offer. Namely a meal for £10 a head. The offer was for a starter, dough balls or garlic bread, a pizza from the list (which was most of the menu) and a drink. Overall I would rate the place as 7 out of 10. Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Some people are lucky enough to have a good pub they know about; some people are lucky enough you know a good pub. I am fortunate to be one of those people that knows a pub that does very good food and good beer. The Old Coach and Horses. We polished off the evening with selections like the white chocolate bread and butter pud(yum) and the very good cheese board.

I guess every one has their favorite curry house; well mine happens to be The Ancient Raj. This Sunday we decided to give their Sunday buffet a try - a prospect that worried me to be honest. I have been to other buffets at other curry houses and have come away very disappointed; the Raj Venue being a case in point, all the food was utterly tasteless. Excellent, as always!
