Thursday, July 22, 2010. Another great appetizer or movie night treat! Who doesn't like cheese? So, I tried my own mozzarella sticks! This does require either a deep fryer or a deep pan with peanut oil. It needs to be preheated to 375 degrees. If you don't have a thermometer (if you are using a pan) just drop in some of the egg wash (which I will explain soon) and if it bubbles and pops.the oil is ready. 1 cup panko, 1 cup regular bread crumbs. 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper. 1 teaspoon oregano leaves (dried).

Wednesday, July 21, 2010. On Monday morning (7/19) I decided to try something in the deep fryer. Fried Mashed Potato Balls.YUM! The girls LOVED them. Made a 6 serving batch of instant potatoes (fresh potatoes and me don't mix well-I can do roasted, but mashed.forget it! I added 2 eggs after the potatoes cooled to thicken them up so that they could be formed into balls. I also added 1 cup of panko crumbs along with some seasonings.cayenne pepper, salt, and fresh pepper. She is a young chef in training!
