Often referred to as 'TG' a TalkGroup is technically a channel pre-programmed into the repeater to allow your transmission to be sent to the right people that you wish to have a QSO with. GB7HM has six TalkGroups programmed for you to use, those are Worldwide Calling, Worldwide English, Europe, UK Wide, Regional and Local. It is very white up here this morning #uksnow.

Sunday, 13 November 2016. Roaming is a feature that allows your radio to switch the stronger strength repeater that is programmed into your codeplug. Much like a mobile telephone network, GB7HM’s Repeater sends out a beacon to tell your radio that it is there, this happens at a pre-set interval within the repeaters codeplug and is permanently switched on. Setting up Roaming in your codeplug is quite an advanced procedure and can take some time, within time we will publish a tutorial on here.

Sunday, 13 November 2016. What is the Regional TalkGroup. GB7HM is in the Wales and Marches Region and is linked to other repeaters through the DMR MARC Network as you may know by now. An added bonus to the network allows local repeaters to be connected and the Regional TalkGroup is born, GB7HM is linked with GB7PN in Gwaenysgor, GB7LP in Liverpool, GB7NM in Manchester and now to GB7MB in Heysham.
