In August 2012 the Great Britain Diabetes Online. Community tweet chat was launched with the hash tag #gbdoc. It is a free resource set up by people with diabetes and for people with diabetes. From the very beginning it has provided a platform for people with diabetes to demonstrate the power of community; empower : connect : support : educate. The success of the #gbdoc has led to the co-funding and creation of tweet chats around the world, from Nigeria to Canada and everything in-between!
