I went to Glasgow University in 1975 and lived in the city’s West End, the time and place for the setting of the majority of Love’s Long Road. After I graduated from University I got a sales job with a toiletries company working in South Glasgow and the surrounding areas. I'd occasionally travel down to London and that's when I discovered Camden Town and Soho, the other main setting in the book.
