Geauga Lake was originally called Picnic Lake and Giles Pond. Not sure of the exact dates when the name changes took place. The Kent House, a 75-room hotel, was built. Became focal point for the new park. The park's first ride, a steam-powered carousel, was added. A roller rink, photo gallery, billiard hall, and bowling alley soon followed. Geauga Lake was always a great park for the kids, offering plenty of rides and activities throughout its history. It's one of the reasons the park had a more family friendly feel than some of its nearby competitors. LOONEY TUNES BOOMTOWN (2000-2003). Majority of these rides were relocated to Cedar Point for their Planet Snoopy area. HAPPY HARBOR PLAY AREA (the former Sea World side).

Geauga Lake was one of the first amusement parks to include a water park for one admission price and was probably what Geauga Lake was best known for during the park's later years. There have been three different water parks located on the property. BOARDWALK SHORES - 1983-1999. Many of these photos were taken during the Six Flags years but since these were original attractions prior to the makeover to Hurricane Harbor in 2000, they are posted here).
