The New Emily: January 2011
http://lauramalish.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 23, 2011. Baby, It's Cold Outside. Snow on the ground, icicles hanging from gutters, cold that bites at your skin - yep, it's winter. I have to remind myself not to forget to add the weather into my writing. Mother Nature, naughty or nice, must not be ignored. Someone once said, without the weather, what would we have to talk about? Thursday, January 20, 2011. If You Send a Writer a Virtual Cookie. The New Emily: February 2012
http://lauramalish.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 28, 2012. It's a day that words don't seem to come easily - not because of writer's block but because of the tragedy of yesterday. Columbine - Chardon - linked by a common element but one is my home. It was then that I realized that the worlds we create as writers offer something precious to our readers. A place were they can predict an ending, laugh, cry, or simply close the cover. I wish peace for the families involved, our schools, our law enforcement, our community. The reader would...

The New Emily: Conference Rant
http://lauramalish.blogspot.com/2011/09/conference-rant.html
Thursday, September 29, 2011. Everyone is still in post-conference glow. But, well, I have to play Debbie-Downer for a minute. It struck me that the new conference attendees (newbies) were in for a wake up call. During a discussion of critiques, I noticed the smiles that could barely be contained, the sparkling eyes, the body language that screamed "the editors will LOVE my book and want to publish it tomorrow! Thus was born my list of guidelines for those giving the critiques. 2 Do not use foul f& *(#@!

The New Emily: October 2010
http://lauramalish.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 27, 2010. But I Don't Want To! I hate it when you develop characters and REALLY like them. But in the end, you have to kill them. Isn't it awful? I'm outlining my current novel and I have to make the decision. It's what is best for the book but.I don't want to see this character disappear forever. I find him/her to be interesting and could do more. Maybe there will be a last minute divine inspiration that will save my poor character! Sunday, October 24, 2010. Sunday, October 17, 2010.

The New Emily: March 2011
http://lauramalish.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Back in the Saddle. Yes, it's been awhile since I posted. Suffering from guilt, I routinely avoided checking blogs. The dedication of others needled me. I was letting those precious creative moments pass me by without my usual focus. Time to saddle up, circle to wagons, rope them in tight. Enough! Can you tell I recently returned from Texas? Yes, it's me astride that steer.dressed for the pool. Such a city girl! Simply, it's time to write. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
