April 1, 2015. Not much time for art these days, so I did what I do when I’m time-challenged. Grabbed my square watercolor paper and started stenciling on it. Then watercoloring via w/c pencils. Something needed to be done with all that white space….looked like a good place to get some font practice in. Pulled up some of my favorite Art Quotes to write in those areas. Used some of my new Stabilo fine point markers for the floral areas. Just coloring fun here,. One eye sees the other eye feels- Paul Klee.

May 22, 2015. Yoga Girl….Colorized. Posted this picture back in January with my Yoga Girl One. Brought in color. I thought it would be cool to have a more batik looking outfit with a lot of color movement. Watercolors can pull this off rather easily. August 31, 2014. Coffee In Hand…. I’ve been working on some doodles for my doodle directory series. Since the squares are small, it was a good size to try a stacking coffee cup illustration. Grabbed my 8 x 8 square watercolor pad….and proceeded to draw the cups on a larger scale. Since, I’m not very practiced in drawing inanimate objects…. I had to believe in myself! Then I tried to bring in a paisley-bandana look to the cups. Buffed up the letters…. Then filled the lettering in…. Links to this post.

June 19, 2014. Keeping with my recent colorful drawings, It was time to whimsey-fy a guy. I just purchased some HOT PRESS watercolor paper (. Because I’ve been unhappy with my sketching when using COLD PRESS paper. Cold Press paper is not smooth, it’s toothy, and the unevenness of the paper becomes very apparent when I sketch on it. They are very shy creatures, but a lot of work is now being done to learn more about them in the wild. I hope you find the video clip, courtesy of National Geographic interesting to watch; it may give you an insight into these little mammals, indeed, may even be your first encounter with a platypus. Art journaling and whatnot. In Which I Make Vague Noises. I have not been arting a lot recently, although I have done an index card for every day of 2015 (not always on time) and am continuing to mess around in the crap journal. Right now my brain is mostly taken up with writing and computery things. My mom talked to my sister. In fact, having sent three cards full to Betsi, I went on to make two more as my daily cards because dang it, it was fun. If any of these bring you inspiration, please run with it!

I found this little piece and thought it was quite interesting :) I love hedgehogs, though ours here in Australia are a little different and are called "echidnas". They have sharp spines and eat ants. Also known as spiny anteaters. Belong to the family. There are four extant. Are the only surviving members of that order. And are the only extant mammals that lay eggs. They live in New Guinea. The echidnas are named after a monster in ancient Greek mythology.
