Sunday, February 3, 2008. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hi, I'm Kathy from St. Louis. I love to sew! I have always sewn, and sew every day. There is a creative place in us all, part of our very soul, and sometimes we close that place off, because of family, work, etc. My fabric stash, threads, and yarns have increased with this class. When I think of another pillow, my fingers begin to tingle. I just have to find the time! Harem of Color Beauty Shot. The Desert Turquoise Pillow is the last pillow I ...

Kat's: April 2008
http://kathys-chat.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Spending time with Christopher. Christopher Nejman recently came to St Louis, for a seminar at Jackman's Fabrics. I got to spend the day watching the master at work. Christopher made sure I was front and center, sitting next to him and getting a birdseye view of all his techniques. Reading Christophers book and watching his tv shows, is nothing compared to watching his techniques up close. He had the ladies dancing in th aisles! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I love to sew! Saturday, May 3, 2008. The 2008 Idol Punching contest theme was "The Magical Forest of Good and Evil", and the surprise items we all had to use in the pillow was pantyhose! We had to cover the entire surface with pantyhose and could be used elsewhere. We had only 3 days to complete these pillows. Juggling family, work and pillow making was a real trip. Ann O'Donovan, Devon, UK. Well done Kathy. That tree must have taken alot of work- it certainly looks fun! May 5, 2008 at 3:07 AM. I love to sew! This Hare...

Janie's Creative Journey: My Favorite Gals at the B.Sew Inn!!
http://textileartsandinspiration.blogspot.com/2008/03/my-favorite-gals-at-bsew-inn.html
My Favorite Gals at the B.Sew Inn! Me, Judy, JoAnn and Fyrne holding my pillows at the B.Sew Inn in Springfield, Missouri. That is my Baby Lock dealer - far from my home in Tennessee, but worth the trip! Dissatisfied with just wool roving, JoAnn introduced me to Christopher Nejman's book, the DVD and his website where he was using gorgeous fabrics with the embellisher to create beautiful pillows. Thank you, JoAnn! Judy, JoAnn and Fyrne have been following my progress and supporting me all the way. He has...

Janie's Creative Journey: Tropical Winds
http://textileartsandinspiration.blogspot.com/2008/02/tropical-winds.html
On to Pillow Number Two! Picture the eye of a hurricane - the massive swirls of wind surrounding it. How would you create that image in fabric? Tropical Winds is that venture, led by Christopher Nejman. In my journey, I learned how to transform fabric, beads and jewels into the vision of a hurricane using the colors that would emerge after the storm. What kind of vision would you like to create? Hi Janie, Never know where a "whim" will take you. Great looking Tropical Wind pillow. View my complete profile.

Janie's Creative Journey: Venturing Off on My Own
http://textileartsandinspiration.blogspot.com/2009/02/venturing-off-on-my-own.html
Venturing Off on My Own. While waiting for our new assignment from Christopher after our first, Harem of Color, pillow, I decided to try a pillow on my own. It was October, and I thought a fall pillow would look good on the family room sofa. I drew a pattern on the cotton duck base and "jumped in". This is my pillow. Denise Simonsen, White Lake, Mich. http://kathys-chat.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 29, 2008. I had heard about felting thru the internet and bought hand equipment and every color of roving imaginable and joined several Yahoo groups on felting, before I knew about Christopher Nejman or his pillow book or Yahoo group. I liked doing this hand technique and made several small things, but knew that I would never fool with this much longer, too slow. I love fabrics, yarns, threads, and have always collected these, but now I knew that I needed more stuff. I began collecting ...
