Newer posts →. December 2, 2015. Here is my current MQTT topic hierarchy in a real-time updating web page, produced by Ben Hardill. 8216;s MQTT Topic Hierarchy browser. I need to sort a lot of things out. The data is sometimes correctly scaled, and sometimes not. The precision is variable. I need to publish the status of my IAM devices as well as their power usage. I need to publish the data from my two Wemo devices. I could publish the status of my LWRF devices, but I do not know that accurately. So I n...

Roomba robot with uarm. ESP8266 MQTT Relay →. ESP8266 Barometric pressure sensor. March 20, 2015. I have been experimenting with the ESP8266. For creating Wifi sensors. Firmware makes programming it very easy. I have tried a few different development boards, and the nodemcu devkit. Seems the nicest for creating sensors. I bought it from ebay. With nodemcu, you code in Lua. In an event-driven style. There are some nice tools to help this process, such as ESPlorer. Sensors to an MQTT. Server running on a R...

EnOcean energy harvesting home automation. You’ve got mail →. What protocol for the Internet of Things? June 16, 2015. My home automation system supports several more protocols and types of sensor since I last blogged about it:. ESP8266 MQTT-based Wifi sensors. EnOcean energy harvesting sensors. Raspberry Pi OneWire sensors. Raspberry Pi GrovePi sensors. Fitbit BLE sensors (such as Zip). These new sensors are in addition to the ones already supported:. Jeenode sensors (including OpenEnergyMonitor). The m...

GrovePi Sensor Radio Alarm Clock. What protocol for the Internet of Things? EnOcean energy harvesting home automation. June 2, 2015. I have started experimenting with EnOcean devices to add to my home automation system. The sensor kit and the Raspberry Pi interface were quite cheap, but the finished devices are usually expensive as they are mainly aimed at the commercial market. The sensor kit includes a temperature sensor, a magnetic contact switch and a wall switch. GrovePi Sensor Radio Alarm Clock.

Raspberry Pi with JeeLink. OpenRemote with 868Mhz and 434MHz transceivers →. January 3, 2013. There is a first version of my LightwaveRF library. It sends and receive 10-byte LightwaveRF 434MHz messages. I have successfully used it to switch sockets on and off and to detect button presses on a remote control and to detect windows and door switches opening and closing. I am using it with the Cool components 434Mhz transmitter. I have tested it with an Arduino Uno and a JeeLink. Raspberry Pi with JeeLink.

Geek Gran learns Raspberry Pi. This is a notebook of projects I attempt with a Raspberry Pi or wearable technology. View Full Profile →. An HDMIPi for Geek Gran. Am rather pleased about this! For the first time in my life I’ve assembled something more complex than. Lego City (5-12 years). The instructions at Cyntech assembly guide. Were excellent and I only got stuck when you had to attach the ribbon cable to the driver board. Anyway, when I get to Leeds Raspberry Jam. In use at Leeds Raspberry Jam.

You’ve got mail. July 11, 2015. My house now lets me know when I have mail delivered through my letter box. This is mainly electronic components from China. It tells me “You’ve got mail” in a Stephen Hawking voice. It takes a few Raspberry Pi servers to achieve this:. The enOcean sensor on the letter box is driven by a solar panel and so needs no power supply and is maintenance free – no batteries to change. What protocol for the Internet of Things? June 16, 2015.
