What's Up Movement | Reviews: June 2013
http://reviewupmovement.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 30, 2013. Had all the makings of a box-office disappointment. A highly anticipated summer blockbuster that saw its budget balloon with an overly invested movie star (Brad Pitt) set to star. Well it turns out that people like zombies and long-haired Brad because the film is doing well. Many of the zombie events in the film can be compared to past zombie movies, so. Thursday, June 27, 2013. Trilogy. With Christopher Nolan and writer David S. Goyer, Superman turns fragile in a way that ...Follo...

What's Up Movement | Reviews: Godzilla

Friday, May 16, 2014. In the lead up to the Gareth Edwards directed. It seemed that everyone needed to compare it to Roland Emmerich’s project of the same name from the 90s. Those comparisons will happen, but it’s clear that this movie was made with that predecessor planted firmly in mind. This film takes itself very seriously and, if you can believe it, lacks realism in critical moments. I will explain that momentarily. I don’t know how that’s possible. What's Up Movement | Reviews: Neighbors
http://reviewupmovement.blogspot.com/2014/05/neighbors.html
Saturday, May 24, 2014. In a world where Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are the comedy tag team champions of the world, it only makes sense that Seth Rogen and Zac Efron work together perfectly in the frat comedy. Rogen has become a master at portraying the loveable oaf and in this effort he is a responsible, loveable oaf. He pulls it off quite well. Byrne complements him well as she continues to be a comedy powerhouse in her own right. Now what about Efron? Each film earns either zero, a half or a full a...

What's Up Movement | TV: The Reality Television Conundrum
http://tvupmovement.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-reality-television-conundrum.html
Friday, May 24, 2013. The Reality Television Conundrum. Are the faces of reality television. But I’m not here to talk about them. I’m here to talk about network reality TV and how to restore its former glory. So what is the solution? I can’t list out these flaws without offering answers, can I? Call me old-fashioned, but I think the formulaic competition shows still have the jump on the Kardashians and Housewives. Maybe if those shows added an elimination element, they’d be more reasonable to w...

http://reviewupmovement.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 28, 2013. Can you think of an actor more fitting to play an ex-mobster than Robert De Niro? Well that’s exactly who he plays in. Is an adequate mafia movie alternative for those not too keen on seeing such prominent violence. Plus De Niro referencing. Provides an interesting meta moment in the film. Saturday, September 7, 2013. One Direction: This Is Us. There were signs in the previews that. One Direction: This is Us. Did the film crew’s all access pass run out? The resolution kind o...

What's Up Movement | Reviews: July 2013
http://reviewupmovement.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 31, 2013. When you go through the Marvel filmography there aren’t any instances of the comic heavyweight being able to duplicate the dark complexity of Christopher Nolan’s. Grossed exactly $1 gazillion, they’re okay with that. But as a fan, I’d like to see that realism among the Marvel icons. Is the best example of this storytelling we’ve seen so far. Taking place after. X-Men: The Last Stand. After fans weren’t happy with. So this may be like that. Who knows? Monday, July 29, 2013. Perfo...

Tuesday, February 19, 2013. The Throwback is a feature that reviews past films and television shows in a modern context. Even with all the new projects we watch, it's always fun to look back on what once was on the big and small screen. The Throwback is our way to do so. Which you’ll likely see soon enough. I could summarize the show’s concept, but I’ll let Captain Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) do it. Wednesday, February 6, 2013. The Throwback: The O.C. Season 1. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
