I have been reading a lot of other peoples blogs and facebook notes etc and there seems to be quite a bit of nerves, angst, questioning, niggles, pain, motivational mojo missing and general malaise. Only natural I reckon, we spend so much of our year shaping ourselves to spend a few heartbeats on a 10 m wide, 95 mile corridor in the west of Scotland that the reality of the focus becomes a little intense and the questions come out . Saturday, 26 June 2010. Down and Ups - Part 1. So here goes. A week ago this time I was just finishing crossing Rannoch Moor with George, Merv and a few other top folks. Friday, 23 July 2010. I've got a Whinjury. I've got a whinjury. Or a whinging injury. It comes from the mind. And the body saying no more. Here is the excuse. This is the reason. Put the feet up. Don't run, it hurts. Its in my ankle. Oh it is sore. I can run no more. Just run in 2 days. Take the month off. But then I go out. Funny it doesn't hurt as much. When the miles pile on. And my mind says thats better. Sure it is sore a bit. But the running feels great. Still got a whinjury. And ready to strike.
