The Geleentheid Trust depends on charitable donations to sponsor school-going learners in Stellenbosch. To donate monthly, complete this form. And send it to info@geleentheid.org.za. Or fax to 086 548 8130. To make a once-off donation, email info@geleentheid.org.za. And we will send you our bank account details. Around 90% of your donation goes directly to the children, and a further 10% towards their selection. The Trust pays pays no salaries and incurs minimal overheads. All donations are tax deductible.
Geleentheid Trust - The Scholarship

The Geleentheid Trust Scholarship is awarded to children in their final year of primary school, and covers expenses associated with a high school career. Winners of the scholarships may attend the school of their choice in Stellenbosch, provided they gain admission to that school. Between 50% and 100% school fees, depending on the situation. The following criteria are used to make the selection process, with 1 being the most and 4 being the least important:. 2 Legitimacy of the need. 3 Achievements in leadership, sport and culture. 4 Stable home environment. Candidates are filtered based on the applications they sumbit. Around 16 applicants are selected for Round 2. Round 2 applicants have to be available for testing on the weekend of 16-17 April. The top 6 achievers will be selected for Round 3. Round 4: School application.

A group of friends making a difference. The Geleentheid Trust was founded in 2008 by Michiel le Roux and Emile van Biljon. The idea originated from a late night conversation over a few beers and became reality soon after. What started with a bunch of friends giving something back has grown into a sizeable organisation. Geleentheid Trust aims to give kids from poor communities the same sort of opportunities that its donors had when growing up. PBO reference number: 930032759.
