This is where I write stuff that I hope people will read. I Heart HAES-Informed Movement Specialists. I’d like to share my story about how I moved from that place of anxiety and disembodiment to a place of personal empowerment. I have been able to experience some of the awesomeness that can come from living in a (super-fat) physical body. I got here with the help of what I like to call HAES-informed movement specialists. I was introduced to HAES by Hilary Kinavey and Dana Sturtevant of Be Nourished.

Such a nervous wreck preparing for my first round of chemo the next day (which ended up being on the 4th but you can read about that in a previous entry). I had buckets and hand sanitizer and all kinds of shit in fear of throwing up. All this but also trying to enjoy what felt like the last day of my life. It was a weird day. Energy is coming back, hair is coming back, memory is coming back, strength is coming back…the only things not coming back are my ovaries. I think I promised I wouldn’t write about my health in this blog so just pretend all those words up there aren’t here. One of my favorite places to be is Gem Studio. I go there for yoga and just recently resumed my strength training in a class called Group Fit with Susanne Wells. And tagged gem studio.
