Behind the Book: July 2012
http://author-secrets.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 19, 2012. It has been a great two years of interviewing authors, learning about new books, and getting a little behind-the-scenes view of what goes into writing a great story. However, I have found that the regular grind of scheduling interviews, reading the books (as much as I loved them all) and doing the interviews has become too time consuming for me. So, I must bid goodbye to this blog. I will still be blogging on Maggie's Meanderings. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Behind the Book: Slaves, Curses, and the Sweetest Blood
http://author-secrets.blogspot.com/2011/09/slaves-curses-and-sweetest-blood.html
Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Slaves, Curses, and the Sweetest Blood. Want to know what new series has so much buzz, I suspect it'll be a bestseller out of the box? New urban fantasy series about the House of Comarré. At the Romantic Times convention it got lots of interest. I've heard of readers dying to get ARCs. And I have to say, it couldn't happen to a nicer person. Here's the blurb for the first book in the new series. I've always loved her characters and the crazy way her mind works- a combination ...

Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Do You Have to Choose Between Love and Career? Please welcome Susan Lute. To Behind the Book. I have to admit, I LOVE Susan's books and the one we are talking about today really a struck a chord with me- especially with all these transitions I've made in the past four months. That and the love story of course. Here is the blurb:. Does it matter that every time he comes near, her heat flutters madly like in the old days? What was the spark that led you to come up with this story, a...

My Fantabulous Bookshelf: October 2015
http://myfantabulousbookshelf.blogspot.com/2015_10_01_archive.html
Words With An Author. Thursday, October 29, 2015. The Rosie Project Graeme Simsion. I actually really like this cover. If I saw it on a bookshelf, my eyes would be immediately attracted to it. The covers pops and theres really great contrast between the fonts and the cover. I have to say I really, really like it. . The writing style was above average, but not spectacular. It didnt hinder me from understanding the storyline but it didnt do anything to enhance my experience either. . Character development ...

So over the past week my family and I were on vacation to Cancún, Mexico (which is why I missed a Tuesday Talks post) and I wanted to share my trip with you guys. The original plan was to leave at about 4 am and reach Mexico at about 2 pm, but of course things rarely go to plan. Day 2: More flying. Day 3: Tulum Ruins. On the next hot, humid, Mexican day we went to the Tulum ruins. Tulum is a Mayan site, where the Mayan ...

My Fantabulous Bookshelf: The DUFF | Kody Keplinger

Words With An Author. Sunday, October 18, 2015. The DUFF Kody Keplinger. For some reason, when a book is made into a movie, publishers have this need to change the cover of the book to the movie poster or something very similar to the movie poster. More times than not it doesn't work, but unfortunately for this book both the original cover and the movie cover were pretty bad. Though I have to say the hot guy on this cover makes it a lot better. 2 Likability of Protagonist. If I'm being completely honest,...

Behind the Book: July 2011
http://author-secrets.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Always brings tidbits of history, a little suspense, and a great relationship to her sweet, inspirational novels. One of the things I love about her books is the setting in North Eastern Oregon among the rugged mountains, the desolate high desert, and the small towns that may have existed in the old west. An afficianado of ghost towns, Mary always takes the reader to an unexpected place. Students that I taught awhile back. Both had an interest in the Civil War and as the sto...
