January 29, 2015. January 29, 2015. Countless women have to wear blazers to work as an act of professionalism, does that make them masculine? The writer claims Maisie gets ‘suited and booted’- an act typically associated with males. It even shows you how to ‘do it like a dude’ with a website link to a similar suit where you yourself can look like a man? The power of few words…. 5 thoughts on “ Suited and booted. Since taking an English Language degree I have been paying particularly close attention to the language around me. We can’t put identity down to just one factor; the way we speak and act is influenced by a combination of factors such as age, gender etc. When I was younger it seemed that your gender determined certain aspects of life including what toys you played with and what colours you liked- pink for girls and blue for boys.
