Nothing special: February 2009
http://jasonhickerson.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 20, 2009. I finally made the best decision of my life. I have still not started reading "Chasing Daylight" but I did purchase an Iphone. Now, before you think I am rich, let me say that here in France the Iphone is super cheap with a super cheap plan! 160;I pay 32 euro a month and surf on facebook and twitter all day. It almost makes me sad to be having this much fun! 160;Oh, and did I mention I can even make phone calls! 160;WOW, such a great product! No more teacher's dirty looks!

The Best Things in Life Aren't Hard to Find: June 2010
http://beccahay.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
The Best Things in Life Aren't Hard to Find. Tuesday, June 15, 2010. What I think of this whole blog thing. As I have gone through this process of writing a research blog. I feel it's a good time to compare it to a conventional research paper (now the bane of my existence) and share my thoughts on this type of open scholarship writing. Open Scholarship = Open Ideas. How can I go back to writing a paper for one person and never get to share my experience/process with others? Colleagues of mine in this cla...

Beechwood Wetland Blog: February 2010
http://beechwoodwetland.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
A blog about my experience with the Community Stewardship Program at the Beechwood Wetland site (and the surrounding area) along the Don River in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There will be pictures, anecdotes and garlic mustard galore. Monday, February 22, 2010. Hm, interesting. I ran this blog through GenderAnalyzer. And it guessed that I'm a woman, but it was only 54% sure, declaring my writing "quite gender neutral." I wonder which words tipped the balance in my womanly favour? Links to this post. Inchin...

For Art's Sake: April 2010
http://rugileg.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 26 April 2010. I was recently looking through job ads and applied to two gallery shops, both of which have yet to respond. BUT I did also come across photographer Dominic Harris recruiting people for his project, Standing Very Still. So I enrolled! And spent one Sunday afternoon running back and forth the Oxford Circus crossing with a group of very random individuals. Here's two of my favourite shots out of about ten attempts from the day:. Trust me, I am. Scroll down to "Urban Clones". Unfor...

For Art's Sake: Baltic Pride
http://rugileg.blogspot.com/2010/05/baltic-pride.html
Friday, 7 May 2010. With the UK election fuss of the past hours (go Caroline Lucas, first green MP in history! International affairs must not be forgotten. For several months now I have been following the restless build up to the Baltic Pride, scheduled to take place tomorrow, 8 May, in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. A few days ago Lithuanian courts suspended the permission to hold the demonstration for LGBT rights. Back on, it seems! Can you link me up with more info about this? 7 May 2010 at 12:51.

For Art's Sake: Freedom
http://rugileg.blogspot.com/2010/05/freedom.html
Friday, 28 May 2010. Just some funky 6th century BC ceramics at the British Museum. It's been two weeks since my last high school exam and its consequential delicious freedom. I'd like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the four institutions that have shaped me during the past twelve years:. I have the fondest memories of the four years in my primary school, Senamies. There I felt so safe, made my first friends and got married. Even more dear were the three years at Kaunas Jesuit Gymnasium. I'm t...

For Art's Sake: Recently on TV
http://rugileg.blogspot.com/2010/01/recently-on-tv.html
Wednesday, 6 January 2010. There has lately been so much on for the sake of art that I couldn't resist noting ideas down. Below are some discoveries I've made as a result. During Where is Modern Art Now? Dr Gus Casely-Hayford introduced the artist Grayson Perry as ". Everyone's favourite transvestite potter". After such a comment I surely had to had to check his work. So far my favourite, Hot Afternoon in 75, 1999. 1997, below, which is a collection of resin casts. So let the Stuckists. Stick to their fi...

Say What?: November 2008
http://emilysaid.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
This year on Thanksgiving it will be just S and myself. Friday we will grab the girls and go for a Thanksgiving/birthday (mine) dinner at my mom's but Thursday we are on our own. I wanted to plan a meal that wouldn't feel. Heavy but would also be somewhat special. Crusted boneless pork chops with Tonkatsu. Cabbage and rice vinegar salad recipe. I'll also be roasting garlic. To make mashed potatoes. For the Friday dinner. Posted by E to the M. Posted by E to the M. These were a sample I knit for Cookie A's.

For Art's Sake: December 2009
http://rugileg.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 5 December 2009. I journeyed today to Portobello market to find a ring for my eighteenth. It's now on my finger as I'm typing, an original 19th century golden Italian cameo. Deliberately special so, for I can 'pass it on to my children', something that seemed very much on my mum's mind when she initially suggested buying one. Caught my eye - the masterpiece was printed on a £3 scarf. Or will this on the contrary make a viewing of the original more significant? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
