Optimizing Output for Thirty Four Years. The BMEP Engine Cylinder Balancer is made from stainless steel. All gaskets have been eliminated in favor of metal-to-metal seals for a maintenance-free operation. There are no moving parts to be oiled or cleaned. The unit uses no transducers, no electronics, and no delicate parts. There is nothing to maintain, and nothing to calibrate. The unit is light, yet strong enough to withstand many times the peak firing pressure of any internal combustion engine.

The BMEP Engine Cylinder Balancer is used to balance the cylinder loading of any multi-cylinder internal combustion engine equipped with individual cylinder fuel adjustment. It fits the standard indicator valve and is quickly connected and sealed with slightly more than hand-tight torque. To balance the engine, keep the engine load constant, take readings from each cylinder, and make fuel adjustments as required until all cylinders yield the same pressure reading.

Optimizing Output for Thirty Four Years. The BMEP Engine Cylinder Balancer uses a pneumatic damping system to yield the mean value of the pressure within a cylinder over its entire power cycle. The unit consists of a series of orifices, each followed by an expansion chamber. Each stage smooths the pressure pulses until, in the last chamber, pressure is essentially constant.
