Monday, October 06, 2008. Yet More Bicycle Nonsense. I picked up this 1984 Raleigh touring bicycle. It looked pretty sad:. Black vinyl electrical tape covered the foam grips and rotten brake hoods. I serviced the hubs, retaped the handlebars and replaced the hoods. My Brooks B17 saddle went on as well. Looking better:. Custom fitted aluminum fenders will help keep road spray at bay. New brake pads were necessary. The original Christophe toe clips were too small, so I got a set of ALE half clips.

When I got home from work I disconnected the batt'ry and took it out of the car, which requires removal of the strut tower brace. (Mazda handling, baby! Sunday, April 06, 2008. Acura Sports Car Challenge, St Petersburg. The race winning Audi R-10 TDI. This Porsche RS Spyder finished second. The Aston Martin did not finish.
