mundo bean: January 2012
http://mundobean.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Chronicling the life and times of Lucas the Bean. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. In a conversation with my dear friend Liz, she suggested I view our "big decision" not just as a new chapter, but as a new book complete with a shiny leather-bound cover, ready to be written. This new book will take us 3,700 miles across the country, back to where the "magic" started for Tom and I.Seattle. Stay tuned for the adventures ahead! Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Chronicling the life and times of Lucas the Bean. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. And tie up all the loose ends (Lucas' IEP meeting, which always gives me agita). I could've never guessed that in some ways I'd be "starting over" at this ripe old age, which is equally frightening and liberating! I'm excited for this fantastic new adventure, although there have been days and moments since Tom's departure that I've wondered out loud, "what the hell are we doing? Monday, February 13, 2012. On the upside, with ...

mundo bean: Day 16: She Said What?!
http://mundobean.blogspot.com/2012/10/day-16-she-said-what.html
Chronicling the life and times of Lucas the Bean. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Day 16: She Said What? My husband recently was with Lucas and my mother-in-law at her long-time neighbor and friend's house. The neighbor is a lovely woman, with a great sense of humor and not a mean bone in her body - although Betty* is nearly 70 years older than Lucas, they happen to share the same birthday. Name changed to protect her innocence. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Day 22: Take 2.

Chronicling the life and times of Lucas the Bean. Monday, October 8, 2012. Day 8: Dark Side of the Moon. For no apparent reason, Lucas dropped his pants at school today and mooned his class. Yeah, it happened. Needless to say, his teacher was mortified. Here's the thing: If Lucas was a typical child, it would be chalked up to being a 5-year-old, but because he has Down syndrome, everything is associated with his disability. http://mundobean.blogspot.com/2012/10/day-24-your-wish-is-our-command.html
Chronicling the life and times of Lucas the Bean. Thursday, October 25, 2012. Day 24: How to Train Your Parents. Lucas was stuck on "The Lion King" for ages and we thought he'd never get over it, even months after he was banned from watching the movie (have you seen how violent it is? And what's with the Nazi references? But alas, he has completely outgrown it. As a matter of fact, I reluctantly purchased a Simba Halloween costume which I had to return because he would have none of it. Day 22: Take 2.
