Friday, August 30. I'm here to teach you things. Things like the difference between exaggeration and truth. Jory and I totalled my parents' car by smashing into the back of a huge Suburban. Fender-bendered my parents blue 1994 Intrepid when I slammed on my brakes and skidded into the back of a rather large Suburban. Jory was just in the car. He really had nothing to do with it. Tuesday, April 30. We saw The Others. Again last night. I love the movies- caramel goodness of the Milk Duds sticking to the backs of your teeth, the squeaky crunch of popcorn, the delighted shrieks of the girls just two seats over- more hilarious because we knew what was coming and they didn't. Then we went home and jumped on the trampoline. Amid delighted shrieks of " Dad. Laertes is trying to kiss me again! And the frantic barking of the dogs, we laughed like we hadn't for a long time. Friday, March 29. I've decided that I want a graphic. somehow, somewhere, of a vintage-looking picture of an ice cream cone. Even better, one that has tabs attached to it, so it looks rather like a paper doll. And underneath it, I want it to say in blocky, cheerful letters, "I scream.". I think it would be fun. Thursday, February 28. Have you ever repeated your name so often to yourself that it began to sound silly? That it made no sense whatsoever, and then you began to wonder what on earth your parents were thinking putting those syllables together, and demanding that people call you that? Thursday, May 30. I have been surprisingly calm tonight, with these things I've been reading. I suppose that, living in Utah, I'm not aware of how sheltered, how supported I am.
