Growing as a person. 90% Perspiration, 20% of the Time →. February 5, 2011. Unfortunately, I’ve begun to hit the wall. IDEs and file management tools have started to exceed my not-too-lousy capabilities, in part due to the increasing standards of technology, and in part due to the wear and tear I’ve inflicted on my machine. 90% Perspiration, 20% of the Time | Exercises in Shame

https://geoffhadlington.wordpress.com/2011/03/03/persistence

Growing as a person. 90% Perspiration, 20% of the Time. March 3, 2011. Recently, I picked up Pick and Pack again, my file handler program in Java. I added some functionality that I’d planned for it in my last “next version” notes. It was remarkably straightforward. I think it’s telling of decent design that such a thing was possible – with full acknowledgement of the bias of working with my own code. And that’s been a lesson a long time coming. Keep organized. A Slice of Life

A Slice of Life. Thursday, 3 September 2009. Will you survive the economic recovery? If you win when the market grows, can you win when it retracts? Many would say you can’t have it both ways yet maybe you can. We know we are in a recession but how deep and when will we come out of it - next week, next month or next year? Why should this be? Well it’s often because of the soft flexible areas of the business which we manipulate to try and create growth and then cut to survive in recession like, adve...
