Our little corner of cyberspace. An Early Birthday Surprise. September 12, 2008. Posted by brianlatimer in Fun. We’ve been prepping for my 40th (! Birthday for quite some time, and Patricia has been very stressed about the final preparations for Saturday’s event at the Tech Museum of San Jose. I’m sure it’s going to turn out great – but, will admit that the thing called “work” has gotten in the way of us getting things done as soon as we’d like. I was very surprised, and obviously thrilled. 8211; but who...

Our little corner of cyberspace. My Life on the G-List. November 30, 2007. Posted by brianlatimer in Fun. We got a chance to see Kathy Griffin. At the Flint Center tonight, and it was great. I’m not a “fan” of Kathy. But I do enjoy some of her routines. I have to admit: She was definitely on-task tonight – much (most? Of her material landed, and it was really a very. Immediately after she came out on stage, she dropped her iPhone (! AND, to cap it all off, we got to go backstage. Enter your comment here.

Our little corner of cyberspace. Definitely High – definitely…. December 16, 2007. Posted by brianlatimer in Rants. I’m still looking into what the heck I will need for obtaining REAL HD content for this HD-capable TV of mine. Yes, I’m considering a TiVo series 3, but it’s still too expensive, IMHO. Here’s a couple recent articles regarding using your computer for this content: One review of the El Gato EyeTV Hybrid. And another focusing on the ease-of-use of the EyeTV software. And therefore Apple TV.

Our little corner of cyberspace. GTD = Great Tools for Developers (or something like that). May 2, 2007. Posted by brianlatimer in Apple/Mac. I’ve been a strong (well, at least well-intentioned) proponent of the “Getting Things Done” methodology for quite some time now. This is the practice described by the wonderful book. Of the same name, by David Allen (more details on his site. As well as an older O’Reilly MacDevCenter article. But my favorite app – by. 8211; is currently iGTD. Http:/ en.wikipedi...

Our little corner of cyberspace. A call from the G-List. December 30, 2007. Posted by brianlatimer in Fun. So, I’m out in the boonies (a.k.a. “My parents’ house”), so my phone doesn’t work well. Only after I get “into town” (Springfield, MO – on my way to the airport to fly back) do I actually get a notice that I have a voicemail – which was left days. Gee, I love AT&T). Definitely High – definitely…. December 16, 2007. Posted by brianlatimer in Rants. A (minor) Christmas miracle. December 7, 2007. Of co...

Our little corner of cyberspace. September 8, 2008. Posted by brianlatimer in Home. After far too long on hiatus, here’s a new entry to appease those staring in disappointment at what has become my (cob-)website. But, I’d like to change that. We’ll see if I can type a few sentences much more often, and keep those friends more in-touch with what’s going on in my life. So, as a tentative baby step toward more regular updates, here’s a quick rundown of today’s events:. Keith’s going to be doing an inf...

An Escape From Typos. You’d think that, after working at here and breathing everything Apple for decades, I’d pretty much know all there is to know about Mac OS and all the little tips and tricks of the trade. “Novice” users typically watch me in amazement when I work, asking “How’d you do that? 8221; every minute or two. So you can imagine my surprise to stumble across something that’s likely documented somewhere, but I’ve never caught it until today. So I’m posting it to share. 08/27/2007 at 11:11 am.
