Boston - Erie Canal. Wrightsville Beach, NC. Wilmington, North Carolina. On November 5th, we returned from our Summer trip! We left Wrightsville Beach on May 1st, traveled North to Boston, then completed the entire Erie Canal (from Waterford to Buffalo, NY), traveling over 3,000 miles in just over 6 months. Since Hurricane Noel was heading north and we were heading south, we ducked into Bath, NC to wait it out. Fred and Mark had beaten us there, but lucky for us there was lots of room left at the free town dock! Mark gave us a guided tour of the big city, complete with one traffic light, 2 restaurants, and one gas station/convenient store. The wind from Noel had knocked all the pecans out of the trees - they were everywhere!

Cape May, NJ. Heading north the ocean was calm, but the Delaware River was rough. Heading south the ocean was rough, but the Delaware was calm! We visited with Aunt Cathryn on both trips, at her home in May and then at the Chapin House in October. It's always nice to visit with her, and it's comforting knowing she is in a very nice retirement home. We like to buy fuel from Harry in Wildwood, NJ on Sunset Lake. His place is up for sale, but we hope he's still there next year!
