George Dalli Fine Artist. Colour plays an important part in my work. This piece was made by carving out the inside of part of a tree trunk. Each branch contributed to the overall form. I made this piece by splitting a tree trunk into a number of rough planks which were then singed and mounted on a number of metal bases. For my bronzes I draw inspiration from the natural world, either casting animal or plant life forms, or incorporating them into imaginary settings, such as a forest grove or a fantastic landscape. This turned a ‘weekend’ into a twelve day trip. Effectively a Grand Tour.
