Finished | On The Fly
https://flyfishingbrown.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/finished
So, how did the new rod fish? June 12, 2012. Okay, the rod has really kinda been “done” for about two days now, but it technically takes a few days for the rod finish and wraps to cure before it’s fishable. As of about 6 hours ago, I can confirm that it is indeed ready to go. I can see now why these things cost a lot of money to buy. Average price range for a rod from a reputable builder can go from $1,200-$5,000 and high-end customizable rods can even reach the $10,000 price point! Once I decided the bl...

Late Night Fly Tying: Goodbye Edition | On The Fly
https://flyfishingbrown.wordpress.com/2012/06/27/late-night-fly-tying-goodbye-edition
Where have I been? Late Night Fly Tying: Goodbye Edition. June 27, 2012. The cleanest this table has been in a long time. The table is empty, with the exception of a few knick-knacks, but still the cleanest it has been since it became my designated fly tying desk. Is this related to the big news I referenced in the previous post? It’s a good thing. PS The table may be clean, but the drawers are still full of crap. I like to catch fish. Ferruling | On The Fly
https://flyfishingbrown.wordpress.com/2012/06/01/ferruling
June 1, 2012. I didn’t spend hours building and sanding Gibson Les Paul guitars for nothin’. I have to admit that after staring at those beautiful blanks, and then coming to the realization that they still needed to be cut to size and sanded for ferrule fitting, I became a little intimidated. You’d be surprised how long it takes to get bamboo blanks prepared to install ferrules, along with dressing the ferrules to make sure they fit each other correctly. I like to catch fish. Mind Grapes: Turn that frown upside down
http://peggythenewsjunkie.blogspot.com/2011/05/turn-that-frown-upside-down.html
Monday, May 16, 2011. Turn that frown upside down. It's sick that I'm actually unsatisfied with 70% in savings. We got $42 worth of groceries for just over $14 tonight at Kroger, and I was actually disappointed. My math wasn't quite right, as I estimated our before-tax-total to be around $10, when it actually proved to be about $12. So why am I unhappy? Your guess is as good as mine. Here is our haul from tonight, minus some free oatmeal that I forgot to include (like a dumb dumb):. All in all, we got a ...
