Kawarau Gorge, Cromwell, New Zealand. GeorgeTown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2008. From December to the end of February the 2008 vintage was hot. This has given the wine more structure and balance compared to 2007. It has also taken longer to settle in the bottle but the wait has been worth while. Taste and Palate: Soft and silky tannins, well married flavours, warm and long. Excellent palate weight and texture. A great food wine. Ian’s serving suggestion: Pork with honey and apple jus. Cellar for up to 5 years.
