Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France. 21 year old language student who can't stay put. First ski of the season! November 19, 2013. This weekend was incredible; we went up to Tignes with the Ecole de Glisse for our first ski of the season! We had such a good day. The only downside was being ridiculously overcharged for my lunchtime hot chocolate. Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France. Hungary for more. Budapest. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France. 21 year old language student who can't stay put. Europe’s Highest Point. October 19, 2013. So apparently climbing to Africa’s highest point just over a year ago wasn’t good enough for me. when the opportunity presented itself I decided hey, why not go and see Europe’s highest point as well? Mercifully, this journey didn’t involve a 6 day hike (/struggle) without a shower or a wash. just a tedious bus journey and a giant cable car! Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France.

Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France. 21 year old language student who can't stay put. Fête des Lumières, Lyon. January 24, 2014. Again, I’m behind on my blogging. What else is new? Although I am trying to do some serious catching up at the moment, so bear with me. And indulging in the local tartiflette. 2) Wrap up warm! You are commenti...

Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France. 21 year old language student who can't stay put. October 30, 2013. So earlier this year I realised that, despite normally considering myself to be quite well-travelled for an average 20 year old, my travels around Europe were pretty limited. When I say limited, I have sunbathed on plenty of beaches and lost count of the amount of times I have swum in the Med, but the only big cities I have visited in Europe are London, Toulouse, Barcelona and Seville! It was such an a...

Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France. 21 year old language student who can't stay put. April 2, 2014. Pretty much the only thing to do when you live in Grenoble and its winter. ski! Here are a few snaps from the clearer days we have had (yes, there is a shameless selfie in there too). Unfortunately, so as not to tempt fate, I haven’t taken any with my big shiny camera as carrying that around would just be an accident waiting to happen. So these are just from my phone instead! 10 things I have learnt since...

Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France. 21 year old language student who can't stay put. 10 things I have learnt since living in France. March 24, 2014. I have been living in the Hexagon for over six months now (don’t even get me started on how quickly that time has passed), and despite there only being a mere 21 miles between Dover and Calais, the French lifestyle differs greatly from that on the other side of the Channel. Here are the main things I have picked up on during my time here:. I notice this esp...

Third Year Abroad: Grenoble, France. 21 year old language student who can't stay put. June 18, 2014. Three years ago I remember accepting my university offers, and the third year abroad was something so far into the future that I didn’t even think it would ever happen it was just so far away. And in a blink. it is over. Well, almost. I still have the whole final exams and flying home stuff to do. 1 Being kicked out of a class because I was Erasmus. 2 Not being able to meet my classmates for a group proje...
