Thoughts of an Uppity Grad: Yari's Baby Clothes: Object History
http://uppitygrad.blogspot.com/2010/09/yaris-baby-clothes-object-history.html
Thoughts of an Uppity Grad. Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Yari's Baby Clothes: Object History. Yari's baby clothes had a long history before Yari. Textile manufacturers, clothing designers, factory workers, truck drivers and retailers all influenced the life cycle of this ordinary onesie. Its owner changed multiple times and each altered the path of the object without knowing that it would eventually reach a young mother and her newborn baby girl. Yari's daughter has since grown out of her first clothin...

Thoughts of an Uppity Grad: September 2009
http://uppitygrad.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Thoughts of an Uppity Grad. Sunday, September 20, 2009. The Significance of Mad Men (and Reading Commentary #2). Some people would call me a television junkie. I prefer to think of myself as a connoisseur of fine viewing. That being said, tonight was a big night for junkies and connoisseurs alike as we all celebrated another fine year of programming with the 61st Annual Primetime Emmys. My thoughts are turning more toward a certain "Outstanding Drama" winner:. Articles analyzing character's drinks. There...

Hackney Wicked and the 8-Foot Tall Chicken. The third-annual Hackney Wicked Festival. Concluded their three-day event today by burning an 8-foot tall, wooden chicken created by artist Adam Beale. The event celebrates the vast arts community in East London, in a former industrial area along two canals. Hackney Wick sits immediately adjacent to the Olympic Village (left), now rising in the Stratford district of the city. We'll post more info and images from the event soon. Video by Grace Dickinson.

Pizza Prospects: Colorado Pizza, It's A Different Breed Out Here
http://www.pizzaprospects.net/2010/06/colorado-pizza-its-different-breed-out.html
Pizza through the eyes of hungry and eager young people. Saturday, June 19, 2010. Colorado Pizza, It's A Different Breed Out Here. I spent the last week at an elevation of 8,750 feet in the box canyon town of Telluride, Colorado. Evidently, due to its remote location it seems it may be difficult getting supplies into town. This unfortunately equals very few pizza places to choose from. I believe there are only two stores that actually sell pizza, and only one is open year round, Brown Dog pizza. This rea...

Pizza through the eyes of hungry and eager young people. Thursday, August 19, 2010. Good-Ol’ Greasy Appalachia. Moving on, The Pizza Place has barely changed since the mid 90s. As mentioned, the jukebox hasn’t been updated in years. I think the most recent addition was Now! Released in 2004) which leads me to believe they’ve lost the keys to open it. Nonetheless, we settled for Foghat’s Greatest Hits. And a few tracks from Dookie. Http:/ www.thepizzaplace.org. Posted by William Stanford Davis. People We'...

Pizza through the eyes of hungry and eager young people. Sunday, February 28, 2010. It’s 2 am on a Friday night at Penn State, everyone has been drinking, there’s some icy slush on the ground, I’ve now spotted eleven familiar faces from high school I was (for the most part) hoping to never see again, and where is everyone on campus? Waiting in line for Canyon Pizza. All of them shouting the famous “WE ARE! Posted by William Stanford Davis. Friday, February 26, 2010. Jump in on the dialogue! I feel like I...
