9835; The Chichi Va-Va-Voom! Monday, January 12, 2009. Frustrations on Racism Connected to Caucasia. Racism is so frustrating to me. I know that it’s impossible to make it completely disappear, but I know that our country has been improving significantly with racism. We have. As we’ve been reading. 8220;It’s the color of your soul, and it rests just beyond the skin.”. How very interesting this idea was to me! Sorry for the long post! I LOVED that as well kyle! The Karmelicious Word: Meaning of Music
http://keenend.blogspot.com/2009/01/meaning-of-music.html
Friday, January 16, 2009. What really got me into lyrics was the rapper Lupe Fiasco. He has so much to say. Most people don't really like him, but you have to give him a chance and listen to him. He says so much influential stuff that is positive. I think everyone has that one artist that they love. This is the guy that really moves me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 9835; The Chichi Va-Va-Voom! Monday, December 15, 2008. As I dove into the intense reading known as “Speaking in Tongues,” I honestly had no idea what to expect. From the title alone, I personally thought that the story was going to be about some linguist… However, I then recalled Mr. Kunkle warning us about some of the content in this story, and by the end of the story, I think we could all see why. The Karmelicious Word: December 2008
http://keenend.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 4, 2008. About a week and a half ago, we read a little article about Desert Storm that was called Metaphor and War. The article was basically a huge metaphor and how war can kill. It really was a great article. It had great examples on all levels. One of the greatest references it had was that Kuwait was described as "rape." That is pretty good. Recently in class we have been talking about censorship. We also read the story Palm Sunday. There was another point that was brought out....

The Karmelicious Word: November 2008
http://keenend.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 19, 2008. For once, we finally read a pretty good story in class. This made me happy! Anyways, we just got done reading a story called "Because My Father Always Said He Was The Only Indian Who Saw Jimi Hendrix Play 'The Star-Spangled Banner' At Wood-stock." This was a pretty interesting story. At first, I thought it would be another bogus story that we had to read. I was wrong! Overall, I'm glad we actually read a story that was somewhat interesting to me. Thursday, November 6, 2008.

The Karmelicious Word: Speaking of Color!
http://keenend.blogspot.com/2009/01/speaking-of-color.html
Thursday, January 8, 2009. With all this hype about color and finding your true race, I have a story that made me think twice about my ethnicity. Now don't get me wrong, I do feel that I know my true race, but this experience had me thinking hard. It was also like that stereotypical neighborhood you see in movies where everyone is blasting music outside, while kids are playing in the water and the grown ups are playing cards. Just a great experience though. Thanks for sharing this with us. Run 4 The Sun.

The Karmelicious Word: What is Race, Anyways?
http://keenend.blogspot.com/2009/01/what-is-race-anyways.html
Wednesday, January 14, 2009. What is Race, Anyways? Anyways, it just really got me thinking about what really splits people's ethnicity up. I personally think everyone is the same no matter what. It just happens to be that people are darker than others, and people have different eyes. Race is much more than skin. Maybe it's genetics that really splits us up, who knows? Thats all I got to say. The Karmelicious Word: Censorship
http://keenend.blogspot.com/2008/12/censorship.html
Thursday, December 4, 2008. Recently in class we have been talking about censorship. We also read the story Palm Sunday. It was a very interesting story. I totally agree that it's not fair to ban books from schools and burn them. I think that if you don't let students read those "obsurd" book, they won't have certain knowledge or experiences needed that are out there in the real world. Overall, I don't think schools should ban books. It really takes away from learning if you think about it. Run 4 The Sun.

The Karmelicious Word: Comedy Back in the Day..
http://keenend.blogspot.com/2009/01/comedy-back-in-day.html
Friday, January 16, 2009. Comedy Back in the Day. There were also pictures of blacks that have oversized lips and other things like that. It just makes me think, "How could blacks ever forgive whites for this? It just doesn't all add up right to me. People shouldn't make fun of each other. Have love, not war on each other, ya know?
