Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View: Quite a day
http://cgeprincipal.blogspot.com/2012/01/quite-day.html
Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. It was quite a day from start to finish. My first task of the day was to administer the Foundation Skills Assessment to the grade 7s and that went along reasonably well with only a few hickups and a need for a couple of students to deal with some freezing. Back at it tomorrow. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Camel days and goodbyes. Positive day all round. Basketball and Soup Labels. First week in the bag. Teaching an...

Are you looking for computer Christmas games that are not shoot-em-up, but rather ones that can be used for some math related things? This site is actually entertaining and one that can be done along with the children, or they can go it alone. Link to the games: The 12 Games of Christmas. Two days to go. Saturday, December 17, 2011. This weeks artwork courtesy of Mr. Williams students. The K-5 class...

Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View: November 2011
http://cgeprincipal.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Not all students do their work entirely within the walls of the classroom. Sometimes you will see students at desks in the hallway working and it isn't necessarily because they have been sent out of class but rather because they find that a better place to work! Mr Bocking reviews a Surrey schools walking plan. Boy: Why can't I walk to school? Mom: Because there is too much traffic. The grade 7s offered to have a "play...

Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View: Another great Friday
http://cgeprincipal.blogspot.com/2012/01/another-great-friday.html
Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View. Friday, January 27, 2012. Another great Friday watching some of the week-ending activities going on. A few weeks ago I taught some of the grade 7 students a great game from my past, Liar's Dice. I love the game for many reasons, but one that applies to student's at this level of their curriculum is that it is a fun introduction to examining probability. It is also an easy game to play at home at almost any age, so I encourage you to do so.

Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View. Friday, February 3, 2012. I know many of you have read my email today letting you know that this is my last day in for Mr. Hunt. I will very much miss the students and staff, but I know that with a grand daughter at Cedar Grove I will have some good excuse to come into the school at some time and join the parents and other grand parents who get into the school to volunteer and contribute to the school in that way. See you around . Picture Window te...

Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View: So much fun
http://cgeprincipal.blogspot.com/2012/01/so-much-fun.html
Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View. Thursday, January 26, 2012. I feel a bit sorry for Ms. Corbo because as techy as I am, I could not figure out the password for our wonderful library computer, so had to take back books without signing them in and sign out books the old fashion manual way. I'll see if I can get that addressed before she returns next week. And you are there. This is one of the photos she sent me and more of her photos will be a part of my January slideshow for the st...

Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View: October 2011
http://cgeprincipal.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View. Monday, October 31, 2011. Well, I have to say it was a pretty entertaining day today at the school. We had a good number of students wearing costumes as well as parents who came as characters and staff as well. All went well and most students were told that the "dark" house was the most scary one, so if they chose to go in only one house, that was just fine. One cool looking dude! Thanks to Ms. Anderson and parent volunteers for getting the stu...
