Tuesday, March 31, 2009. If you knew Trevor Bryant growing up, you wouldn’t recognize him today. As a child and teenager, Trevor was overweight. Never known as athletic or slim, he played water polo and always wanted to take karate lessons. He graduated Sunset High School a year early and went off to college in Wyoming. When he moved back to Portland after college, Trevor started taking karate lessons at a school in Southeast Portland. Here he met Chris and Kristine Boyer. He lost track of the Boyers.

Friday, April 30, 2010. One week down, 17 to go. We will say today is the end of week 1 (of the final 18 weeks before Ironman Canada. This week was very eventful. We made the decision to add another marathon into our training program. So, on May 16th, we will be running the Capital City Marathon in Olympia. We figured that we need some longer training runs. Mentally, it will help to have done multiple runs of 26.2 miles before Ironman. Here's what the week entailed:. Monday - upper body weights/abs.

Monday, June 28, 2010. 7 down, 11 to go. The week after the marathon, time for a little recovery! Last week was crazy, with over 16 hours of training, this week was really light, around 6 hours. Next week we will ramp things back up. Its too soon, I haven't put in enough work. I think those things while I am in the water, then for the next two days until I get back into the water. We'll swim four times next week and then at least once the following week. So I will get at least 5 more open water swims...

Saturday, May 29, 2010. 5 down, 13 to go. Its hard to even remember the beginning of this week! My cold started come back early in the week, but now its gone. I am not really sure when that happened, but I am glad its gone. I have been feeling a little tight in my right IT band, I need to have that worked out early next week. Friday, May 1, 2009. Training is the opposite of hoping. Apparently, this is a new slogan that Nike is using in their marketing. I saw it on a t-shirt and LOVED it. This is my new theme for life. I think it can pertain to any challenge that you face – not just an athletic event. Just writing that makes me want to be even more diligent in my training. It makes me feel like I am in complete control of my future and that is empowering. Start saving into an emergency fund? Start looking for a new job now?
