Getting Purly With It. Adventures and Yarn Lustings of a Passionate Knitter. Where have you been revisited. I am very busy packing and running around doing all kinds of stuff and have absolutely no time to blog! I can however, show you one of my favorite blogpost called “Where have you been”. I wrote this in July 2007. Enjoy…. Where have you been? 8220;I have always been here, you silly. Waiting for you to open the gates…”. 8220;WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? 8221;, I cry out. A challenging project | Getting Purly With It
https://gettingpurlywithit.wordpress.com/2010/05/19/a-challenging-project
Getting Purly With It. Adventures and Yarn Lustings of a Passionate Knitter. My wooden basket became too small for the amount of poppies. I have knitted so far and I had to transfer my colorful pretties to a glass bowl. I have knitted 80 poppies so far, only 20 more to go. My glass bowl can hardly contain this abundance of goodness and is about to overflow. I simply love it! Knitting the poppies for my Poppies of Endearment. Project has been easy. The challenging part is yet to come. Hands down the most ...
Learning how to read a chart | Getting Purly With It
https://gettingpurlywithit.wordpress.com/2010/03/25/learning-how-to-read-a-chart
Getting Purly With It. Adventures and Yarn Lustings of a Passionate Knitter. Learning how to read a chart. Unlike Evelyn A. Clark’s Flower Basket Shawl pattern, the Springtime Bandit pattern by Kate Gagnon Osborn does not provide fully written out instructions. When one considers to knit the Springtime Bandit, be prepared to read charts. I have always avoided charts, and prefer the fully written out instructions, but Kate forces me to finally get over my fear and gain confidence in reading charts. I woul...
Handspun Morning Mist | Getting Purly With It
https://gettingpurlywithit.wordpress.com/2008/05/26/handspun-morning-mist
Getting Purly With It. Adventures and Yarn Lustings of a Passionate Knitter. Last week we set out for a little trip to the Oregon coast. I was so incredibly excited and was just jumping up and down in the car seat like a little child. We staid the night at the the coast and during an early morning walk I day dream about handspun morning mist…. If I would have felt frustrated or stressed out about a certain situation, I am sure this gentle touch on my skin, would have eased my worried mind. The color of m...

Pendie's Purls of wisdom: May 2011
http://pendie99.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Pendie's Purls of wisdom. Sunday, May 15, 2011. Can you believe it? Yes, after a year and a half of unemployment, I have finally landed a job. A nice job working for a nice company. I haven't gotten the confirmation email yet so I hope I didn't imagine it. I have two weeks to get everything done I was supposed to get done over the past year and a half. I will also have to squeeze in some knitting, of course. I won this wonderful yarn and shawl pattern from Wandering Cat Studio. Sunday, May 1, 2011. I've ...

If it doesn't involve pain, we're in. Monday, August 31, 2009. Camping At Indian Henry. We recently went camping and had a blast! I love camping. Its cheap, you get to eat alot, you get to drink a lot of sangria, and you get to be lazy and not get dressed or shower for days. What's not to love? There's the s'mores, the campfire, the big breakfasts (did I mention eating a lot? Sear and me with our sweet sangria glasses. Me and Josh with a ton of canines! From left, Matey, Captain, Angel. The heat hit befo...
Hall Adventures: March 2010

If it doesn't involve pain, we're in. Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Beautiful Day in Portland. We have been having the. Beautiful winter in Portland. Sunny, warm days that make you think of springtime and open windows and its really helped with keeping me from feeling dreary this year. Last winter it snowed so much, it felt as if we had moved to a Northeastern state or maybe the tundra. This year I've barely busted out my favorite wool coat with the floral lining (I'm not complaining. View my complete profile.

Hall Adventures: The Best Costume
http://halladven.blogspot.com/2009/10/best-costume.html
If it doesn't involve pain, we're in. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. It was that time again. Time to figure out a Halloween costume for our friends' annual party. Our friends give out a $100 cash prize for the best costume, so it had to be good. We decided Joshua would be Dwight from The Office and I would be Flo from the Progressive Insurance commercials. Both slightly annoying, but completely lovable characters. (Right? In other words, we were getting a run for our money, literally! Except Garth was Wayne.
Hall Adventures: September 2009
http://halladven.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
If it doesn't involve pain, we're in. Saturday, September 5, 2009. A few weeks ago, we went fishing with Dad on Sauvie Island. We didn't catch anything, er, actually we caught a few small catfish, but threw them back. If we're not catching fish to bring home and eat, I'm out! The berries are free, and in these tough economic times. so! Aren't even the same. We stopped at a lavender farm and picked up some dried lavender and little gifties. I got some lavender salt because, well, it sounds interes...Remem...
Hall Adventures: Turkey Fest '09
http://halladven.blogspot.com/2009/12/turkey-fest-09.html
If it doesn't involve pain, we're in. Monday, December 7, 2009. This year for Thanksgiving, my Aunt Elaine suggested we drive down to the Bay Area to visit with my Uncle Wayne for the holiday. I love road trips with my aunt, and we were game! I was recently diagnosed as gluten intolerant, so now Josh and I are both avoiding it. My uncle did an amazing job cooking gluten free for Thanksgiving. He even made gluten free cheese puffs for us! On Saturday, Wayne took us on a tour of Starry Night Winery.

If it doesn't involve pain, we're in. Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Keep Your Eyes Peeled: Piggy's Progression. Flash forward to the weekend before Christmas. My good friend Andrea was kind enough to get squeaky toys for the dogs (she is the best at picking out dog toys, we don't even buy them toys anymore because they hate the ones we bring home). One was an alien monster thing which has been named Monster and the other a crazy looking pig thing, which we named Piggy (we're pretty creative, eh?

GETTING PUBLISHED | Comments and advice for academic authors
Comments and advice for academic authors. Serious book proposals (6): ‘competing’ books. Anthony Hayes has a lot of interesting thoughts and advice to offer on the world of publishing and books more generally but in particular this post in a series on book proposals is especially fine. Thanks Anthony. Publishers routinely ask prospective authors for information about what the former call. Posted by Gerald Jackson. Recruiting top scholars for your volume. That is an interesting (and very relevant) question.

Sunday, May 6, 2012. It Is Finished: My Final Post. All good things must come to an end, even when I don't want them to. This blog has brought such joy to me over the years. The fact that it might have brought some joy and laughter to others blows my mind. I will still leave it up, it seems to still get a lot of hits. This blog has enabled to be able to do things I never thought I would do. I've met and interviewed players, sat in the press box and attended morning skates, all due to this blog. More play...
