The View From My Bed. Catching up on “The Newsroom”. There are few things I have a deeper appreciation for than good television, but one of those things is great journalism. The Newsroom combines both, and I am endlessly grateful to Aaron Sorkin for creating this show, which made me both laugh and cry within the span of a few short minutes. The View From My Bed. A cheap gimmick that still works. The whole thing is a bizarre ploy by both shows (both on USA) to ensure that I will tune in eagerly next week to see how these characters’ fates play out. And I can assure you it worked. What confuses me, however, is why it works so well every time. You can not be a fan of these shows and honestly believe that anything terribly wrong will happen to these two. I guess this episode earned it’s name, “The Woman Problem,” since the plot advances basically zero while shedding light on all of the women in a less-than-favorable way. It also tears down the sitting president some, which I guess is good if the audience is now supposed to believe Elaine Barrish should actually run, despite her family’s clear inner problems.
