Other than working with ECI (and all the hard work we've done at home!), the biggest impact on his behavior and his ability to focus and adapt has been going GFCF. GFCF is a gluten and casein free diet. This means no wheat, oats, barley, rye or dairy...be it dairy products or any product containing a dairy derivative. I think that most, if not all people would benefit from this diet.

Also, meant to say, I made this last night and the kids loved it:. 1 pkg DeBoles Rice Spirals. 1 pkg Chicken of the Seat boneless skinless salmon. 1/2 pkg. Green Giant Peas Steamers. Monday, March 16, 2009. More Food With an Emphasis on School Lunches. Here are some of Sam's favorite things to take to school in his lunch. Sandwiches on Brown Rice Bread. Toastada shells with a side of refried beans and guacamole. (I think he likes getting to spread it himself.). BBQ chicken sandwiches using Annie's Naturals BBQ sauce. PB&J using sun butter. So I can make sandwiches for our 18 month old daughter at the same time.we haven't tried peanuts on her yet) and Smuckers "Simply Fruit".

But he's also an autistic one, which can make things a little difficult. However, one of the best tools we've found in helping him is a diet called GF/CF. We eliminate gluten, casein, MSG, and aspartame from the foods he eats. The first day of this was met with success- he even asked his teacher for a different treat instead, that didn't have gluten.
