Axe the Gluten: it's the end of the year already?
http://axethegluten.blogspot.com/2009/12/its-end-of-year-already.html
Gluten free recipes with the occasional story about my pets thrown in for fun. Thursday, December 31, 2009. It's the end of the year already? Yesterday I decided I needed some pecans. Not just your average roasted or even honey roasted pecans but those really delicious cinnamon-sugary ones you can get at Hockey games or fairs/festivals? They are usually still hot too when you get them! 3-4 cups Pecan halves (as desired). Warning, be ready with strong arms, you'll be stirring for a long time!

Axe the Gluten: Such exciting events!
http://axethegluten.blogspot.com/2009/10/such-exciting-events.html
Gluten free recipes with the occasional story about my pets thrown in for fun. Tuesday, October 6, 2009. One of my favorite websites is Cakewrecks.com It's hilarious. It's a website that tells the stories of cakes-gone-wrong. It's all in good fun and it's an awesome site. The author/editor of the site, Jen, has gotten a book deal and she is on a book signing tour. This past weekend she and her husband were in Dallas for the signing. Specifically in Plano! My cake wreckplica was gluten free and vegan.

Gluten-Free Living: How do you prefer to shop for gluten-free groceries?
http://gluten-freeliving.blogspot.com/2013/06/how-do-you-prefer-to-shop-for-gluten.html
Monday, June 10, 2013. How do you prefer to shop for gluten-free groceries? There's no doubt that gluten-free items are getting easier to find in mainstream. Some have created dedicated gluten-free sections or include gluten-free foods in a designated natural or health food department in the store. Others spread the gluten-free products throughout the store, for example putting gluten-free pasta on the shelves where "regular" pasta is stocked. I know just where the specialty area is, and I can easily fin...

Thursday, August 9, 2012. A Celiac’s Wingman. My celiac was at a water park in Connecticut with his buddies from camp a couple of weeks ago. As teenagers, they are allowed to go at their own pace on the rides and break for lunch at the concession stand whenever they feel like it. These concession stands typically offer up the bunless burger and questionable French fry option for a person with a gluten intolerance, but my celiac decided on some sort of fruit and yogurt smoothie for lunch. His friends have...

Thursday, June 6, 2013. A pill to treat celiac disease is no longer a pipe dream. We're moving closer to a pill to treat cd. We all go through stages of transition after a diagnosis of celiac disease. Now, Alice Bast, president of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness, is pushing us to go one step further. She's urging us to really understand what celiac disease is and how it works. It's more critical now than ever to know and understand how celiac disease works," Bast explains. "We are on the...

Thursday, February 28, 2013. One of the best job titles on the planet is “Mom.”. It is such a treat to evolve in my role from watchdog, scold and protector to a normal person as the kids grow up. I am still Mom, but as the kids grow up they are becoming the most fascinating people and I want to spend more time with them at the same time they are seeking their independence. In my case the saying would be, “We’ll always have gluten-free food.”. Last Friday was a perfect example. I had a crepe as well…...

Axe the Gluten: breakfast pizza
http://axethegluten.blogspot.com/2009/09/breakfast-pizza.html
Gluten free recipes with the occasional story about my pets thrown in for fun. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. I got the idea of making a breakfast pizza the other night while sleeping. I was dreaming of the deliciousness as I frequently dream about pizza. It continues to be the one food I cannot make like it's full-gluten cousin. I still enjoy the pizza I do make, but I remember the difference in flavor, texture and greasiness! Cooked it at 425 for about 10 minutes and it was so delicious!

Gluten-Free Living: Gluten-free Dunkin’ Donuts debate
http://gluten-freeliving.blogspot.com/2013/07/gluten-free-dunkin-donuts-debate.html
Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Gluten-free Dunkin’ Donuts debate. When Dunkin' Donuts announced it was planning to roll out a gluten-free donut and muffin nationwide, we posted the news on our Facebook page. Gluten-free consumers started responding immediately. Many rejoiced. Others paused to voice some concern about cross-contamination issues. And some complained that another unhealthy product was making its way into the gluten-free market place. Here are some examples of what they said:. I suspect you would pu...
