Tuesday, November 27, 2012. We agreed to teach a small class one day each week at a local university. Many of the students are christian. The first day 37 came to class! Needless to say, we needed help so we brought two native english speaking missionaries with us to the second class. The goal was to have four small groups so we could work one on one practicing pronunciation and conservation. Seventy-Five showed up! This is my group. Sunday, June 24, 2012. Gardens at Puri Casablanca Apartment Complex. We live in a very nice complex. It has four towers with a total of around 1000 appartments. While it is older then many in the city, it is in a good area and well maintained. It has some of the nicest gardens you will find. It has been very dry lately, so the grass is not as green as usual. Gail really enjoys her walks thru the complex! A putting green. There is also an area for driving practice. I am sure glad I wasn't that type of boss.

Located in Jakarta is a place called Taman Mini Indonesia. it is a park filled with famous buildings from all parts of Indonesia and authentic examples of the various cultures through Indonesia. Sunday, May 20, 2012. Today we attended the Jakarta Stake Conference. There were 750 in attendance. The speakers spoke of missionary work and the importance of sharing the message of the Savior Jesus Christ with friends and family. In Indonesia it is against the law to share your religion with others unless they ask. Last year there were 79 baptisms in Indonesia with 40 so far this year. The Church started missionary work in Indonesia around 1970. Today there are about 6500 members. Sunday, May 13, 2012.
