Because of the scent of rain. Because of its promises. And because there is actually A LOT of rain in Africa. New Year's Eve Ghana Style (does not involve goats nor champagne). Noone is throwing a New Year's Eve party? Not even a small one? 8221;Traditionally” (would be interesting to know when and where this practice comes from), New Year's Eve in Ghana is a day for contemplation, gratitude and prayer – clearly a Christian holiday!
