The B Team hits the gold coast. Ghana… but not forgotten. Okay, we’re really sorry for the lack of pictures so far. Between camera difficulty and the slowest Internet connection on the planet, we’ve had trouble uploading. This is our lunch/dinner meal. Sometimes we have rice instead of these cassava chunks. Sometimes we have a boiled egg. These children live in one of the local villages. We had to determine whether or not they deserved subsidized lunches… most of them did not qualify. And here we are!

The B Team | Ghana... but not forgotten.

https://ghanabutnotforgotten.wordpress.com/about

The B Team hits the gold coast. Ghana… but not forgotten. For the month of July, The B Team will be living near and working in a rural orphanage outside of Accra in Ghana. Clark will be a sports coach, and Lindsay will be working in health education, focusing on AIDS/HIV awareness. We’ll have buckets for bathing, cots for sleeping… and hopefully, some weekend beach excursions! One Response to “The B Team”. Mom and Dad Bosslet. July 6, 2010 at 4:59 pm. Good Luck “B” Team! Ghanaian Cultural Teachings, Part 1: The tro-tro | Ghana... but not forgotten.

https://ghanabutnotforgotten.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/ghanaian-cultural-teachings-part-1-the-tro-tro

The B Team hits the gold coast. Ghana… but not forgotten. Ghanaian Cultural Teachings, Part 1: The tro-tro. Any long distance trip in a tro-tro will feature multiple stops by the Ghanaian (pronounced Guh-ney-un) police and immigration officers, whose diligence on the job seems to be something of a crapshoot. One constant word of warning, however: they don’t like to be photographed. Lindsay decides to share the health. 2 Responses to “Ghanaian Cultural Teachings, Part 1: The tro-tro”.

The B Team hits the gold coast. Ghana… but not forgotten. Lindsay decides to share the health. In case you didn’t catch it before, I am working at the orphanage with a specific task in mind promoting health practices among the children. I think I may have been the first ever orphanage volunteer to apply for this position because there doesn’t seem to be much groundwork laid before me, nor does anyone seem to fully understand what I want to accomplish. They could not have been more wrong. Your story is cr...

Patel It Like It Is: June 2012

http://patelitlikeitis.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Patel It Like It Is. Saturday, June 23, 2012. The point of this series of blog posts is to highlight some of the things I'm thankful for these past two years and hopefully find some reason/purpose/"so what" for all this gratitude. When I think back to my London years, I generally remember all the new things I've seen, done, tasted, etc. And these "firsts" are memories I treasure. Here's a sample. First time to cut loose. Our recent Scotland trip was one of my favorite trips I've had the past two year...

Patel It Like It Is. Sunday, September 23, 2012. And my own operating strategies of being a woman in a man's world. Everyone needs to develop their own "style" taking things that work for them and borrowing ideas from others. This is my "Payal style". Confidence matters. Alot. Accept that life's not fair. One of my favorite Directors that I worked with is a woman named Courtney. She once paraphrased a quote (I think by Laura Bush? Everyone has to eat. Get your rear in gear. I have very low tolerance for ...

Patel It Like It Is. Saturday, March 31, 2012. If I Had the Moolah. I just finished taking a GREAT class called "Managing Sport and Entertainment" this spring. Great guest speakers, topics, and cases that ran the gammut including Manchester United, Cirque du Soleil, Radiohead, NYC nightclubs, Broadway theater, YouTube, the book publishing industry, and much more. Fence Guy calls this his world when customers walk through this fence. If you've ever been to a Cirque show, you know that it's an emotional.

Saturday, July 2, 2016. A visit from home! On June 12 both our daughters arrived in Ghana to spend the next 9 days with us! What fun we had and some very unique experiences! I will post a few highlight pictures. Elmina castle in Cape coast, Ghana. Horseback riding and swimming on the beach. Canopy walk Kakum national park. Petting crocodiles at Hans Botel. Anna was our gutsy one. She would try the whole fish! Visiting the monkey village was a lot of fun. We had fun climbing a ficus tree. OK, this isn't a...

Ghana but not Forgotten | Antire!

Being Ghanaian, Part 1: Fufu. 4 June 2012 - Bree. This is Hiki (Short for Hikma and pronounced Eeky). She’s never been away from Tamale, but likes the idea of travel. She also thinks being away from friends and family would be difficult, and has declared it her duty to never let someone from a foreign country feel unwelcome or alone. A while back, she invited me to her house to make fufu with light soup. And today, I will pass that knowledge onto you. To make this dish, you will need. Strain the resultin...
