Ramblings of an African geek: Back to play
http://ghanageek.blogspot.com/2006/09/back-to-play.html
Ramblings of an African geek. A place for me to talk about anything that comes to mind. Monday, September 18, 2006. Hey people. I guess I've been gone for a while. Sorry about that. I have gotten pointed reminders from several people that my posts were missed. Well, I'm back to regular writing now. About time too. I honestly have missed this a lot. Good to see you back! Thanks Tiel. Good to be back. Africans and their decendants have gross disfavor: :. They refuse to address black disfavor on a macro lev...

Ramblings of an African geek: I now have a contract
http://ghanageek.blogspot.com/2006/06/i-now-have-contract.html
Ramblings of an African geek. A place for me to talk about anything that comes to mind. Sunday, June 25, 2006. I now have a contract. Has officially signed me up for the duration of my stay. And, to be perfectly honest, they are overpaying me. I'd do the job for the cost of bus fare, which would be nothing since I usually ride with my father. Still, the money is nice and it does provide some additional incentive to deliver. Which I am writing. Either way, this is shaping up to be a fun ride. We're waitin...

http://ghanageek.blogspot.com/2006/08/and-wheel-continues-to-turn.html
Ramblings of an African geek. A place for me to talk about anything that comes to mind. Thursday, August 10, 2006. And the wheel continues to turn. In the space of three days last weekend I gained a cousin, lost an uncle and saw my father turn 60. Last Thursday his younger brother had his second chld. A boy. He gets named today. On friday he passed away. Friday was also my father's 60th birthday. Spend all the time you can with those you love people. You don't know when or how you'll see them again.

Wednesday, October 26, 2005. Commentary on Octavia Butler's 'Bloodchild'. Links to this post. Slight shift in schedule. I started writing the Race and SF post, but found myself overwhelmed by all I wanted to talk about and caught up in the wide range of possible directions I could take the post in. The books were(in no real order).

Prep Time Posse: My Love Is No Longer Blind
http://preptimeposse.blogspot.com/2009/02/my-love-is-no-longer-blind.html
Thursday, February 12, 2009. My Love Is No Longer Blind. The following statement has been very hard for me to come to terms with, let alone for me to write down as my current formal position on the matter, but I must speak the truth. Prep Time Posse brethren:. Is no longer my top comic book. Gotta take a personal moment and compose myself. …3…2…and…1…okay, I’m ready to continue. The biggest peanut in this turd, however, is the pacing of the action. Now I loves me some DAREDEVIL. Through the window. He.

I am The Turquoise Chef, #1 Supervillain in Coney Island. Is the greatest comic ever (what a predictable answer.). Sorry fuckers, but Judd is the best comic writer of the last 10 years. The only other writer who even comes close is Chuck Austen. What makes Judd so good? He thinks 2D animation is better than 3D.). Mia from Green Arrow.

Thursday, February 19, 2009. Many of us have them? Ones we can depend on. Now I’m sure all Posse members have their favorite stores, and that we all could probably rank them in order. I’m sure we all have our least favorites too (because ANY store w/ comics is still a “favorite”, right). But how many of us have a ". I do In true GEM. But I probably wouldn’t want to write about any of them. As I define it: a GEM. I only tell two kinds of people about my GEM. Collect anything I might be after. 183; “.

Take 'Brand New Day' for example. Finally someone at Marv-Capital-L. Had the wherewithal and the cojones. Shit Just shit, shit, shit, and more shit. And it's gonna get worse before it gets any better, believe you me. Let's start with DC Comics. With 'Final Crisis' just around the corner, there's no denying that DC Editor-in-...

Saturday, June 16, 2007. An Idiot's Guide to World War Hulk: It's Here (C) Common. Now I know why the Posse needed me. If you go over to okayplayer.com right now, you can hear a lot of fools screaming that this issue gets an infinite smash factor. These are the same people who called Stillmatic a classic. The post-modern devaluation of standards of good and bad has now taken some of the greatest comics minds of my generation. For shame, PtP. Figure 1: An Average Album. But can we please see. Did Hulk tak...

After World Wide Hulk ended and I saw the list of books that were coming out afterwards, I had pretty much resigned myself to not buying anything in the Hulk Universe anymore. Matter of fact, the only reason I bought Incredible Herc #111: the Art Adams cover. No, seriously. Damn, am I glad I did! And I'll be honest, the first issue was just okay but then Pak had the inspired idea to make the first true villain of the first arc, Ares. It's kinda s...

Ramblings of an African Geek | A place for me to talk about anything that comes to mind
Ramblings of an African Geek. A place for me to talk about anything that comes to mind. We are not supposed to be here. March 6, 2014. So… today is the 57th anniversary of Ghana’s independence, and as a Ghanaian citizen, it is a day I always approach with very mixed feelings. I’ve been thinking about how to write some version of this piece for a while. I’ve always found some excuse not to write it though, so while it is late this year, here it is. December 8, 2013. I’m back…. For real this time...So̷...
