show, tell | ghana sit right down and write myself a blog
https://ghanasitrightdown.wordpress.com/2008/08/08/show-tell
Ghana sit right down and write myself a blog. My summer in and around accra, ghana. Last weekend in Benin, we came along a group of kids who greeted us by asking – nay, shouting and demanding (adorably and in French, mind you, though it still didn’t work) – for money and gifts. Though we weren’t going to fill their outstretched hands with bills, coins, and trinkets, we were easily convinced to start a great game of show and tell, digital-photo style. Ghana sit right down and write myself a blog. My summer in and around accra, ghana. There’s been a slight change in plans. For much of the summer I had expected that I would have boarded a bus yesterday and ventured north, waking up this morning to find myself somewhere near Tamale and ready to continue to the next destination. Ghana sit right down and write myself a blog. My summer in and around accra, ghana. As I mentioned yesterday, I’m out of here for the next few days, heading across the border to Togo, then Benin, then back again. We’ll hop in a tro-tro shortly, after which it’s only a three hour trip to the Togo border. I’ve spent three times as many hours on a single bus ride heading north in Ghana, but somehow this feels more exciting. By -becs on 31 July, 2008. One Response to “border crossing.”. Ghana sit right down and write myself a blog. My summer in and around accra, ghana. We reach the border at Aflao. Rain stops and blue sky returns. Baguettes are for sale on the side of the road, standing in for Accra’s tea bread. The day is looking up. We wake and mosey to Coin Chaud for pastries. Pastries! We pile into a taxi, once again border-bound. This time, Benin beckons. Only 56 km or so from Lomé. Togo is a small country, really. One hour and we are there. Another crossing, th...We ask the driver...
