November 2016 ~ Gianni Filippini Cycling
http://giannifilippinicycling.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Boston-Littleton, 7th October 2016. Littleton-Goffstown, 8th October 2016. At a red light on Main Street I saw the largest human being I have ever seen. A woman crossing the street slouched on an oversized electric wheelchair filled with meat to the brim, the poor soul obviously unable to carry all that freedom on her own legs! Goffstown-Laconia, 9th October 2016. Laconia-Wolfeboro, 10th October 2016. Wolfeboro-Conway, 11th October 2016. Conway-Franconia Notch, 12th October 2016.

Provence 2004 ~ Gianni Filippini Cycling
http://giannifilippinicycling.blogspot.com/2013/06/provence.html
Friday, October 8, 2004. Often roads were perfect for a bicycle, narrow and very little trafficked, crossing incredibly beautiful sceneries. Clear example of this was surely the Corniche Sublime, a balcony around the stunning cliffs of the Gorges du Verdon. One is never far from views that inspired painters and artists and one is left in no doubt as to the reason why so much inspiration was found in this part of the world. Nice - Cannes, 28th September 2004. Cannes - Taradeau, 29th September 2004. Forcal...

Friday, October 25, 2013. Oregon - California 2013. Portland-Forest Grove, 8th October 2013. It would have normally been enough material to have serious doubts about the shifty character's true motives, but I remembered my resolution; he did walk me to the right place so I asked for a discount and got away with a 50% off bargain of five dollars! Forest Grove-Cape Lookout, 9th October 2013. Cape Lookout-Beverly Beach, 10th October 2013. Beverly Beach-Jessie Honeyman 11th October 2013. After watching the s...

Japan 2005 ~ Gianni Filippini Cycling
http://giannifilippinicycling.blogspot.com/1990/05/japan.html
Sunday, September 11, 2005. Having been fascinated by Japan for many years, I thought it would make and ideal destination to discover on a bicycle. The adventure of cycling into a country where even signposts can be a challenge fascinated me and the ability to discover cities like Kyoto and Nara and see those zen temples and garden I had so often read about proved too hard a pull to resist. Tokyo-Nikko, 2nd September 2005. Nikko-Yunoko, 3rd September 2005. Yunoko-Kusatsu, 4th September 2005. This no wond...

August 2015 ~ Gianni Filippini Cycling
http://giannifilippinicycling.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. Lake Louise-Rampart Creek, 13th July 2015. This time I didn't and had to learn my lesson. In the morning I had to catch an early bus back to Calgary and a suitable shop! It seems a bear went into a tent who had some food in it, luckily when the camper was not around! Food along the road is really spare and the hostel had no cafe and as I was chewing down yet another peanut butter sandwich Melanie took some pity and appeared with some instant noodle I could prepare in the kitchen...

Sunday, June 19, 2005. Graz, June 8th 2005. Arrival day in Austria. The highlight despite the pretty sights of Graz, must be the unscathed arrival of my brand new touring bike. Looking outside the airport windows before boarding the plane at Stansted I followed the progress of my neatly boxed jewel hoping it would be handled by the delicate hands of a china shop assistant! Graz-Bad Gleichenberg, 9th June 2005. Bad Gleichenberg-Eisenwald, 10th June 2005. Eisenwald-Velden, 11th June 2005. After a brief sto...

March 2016 ~ Gianni Filippini Cycling
http://giannifilippinicycling.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Bandaranaike-Kammala, 17th February 2016. It's the turn of Sri Lanka who would have said! Promises of cheap and good food, smooth roads and hot winter temperatures and not too great distances and I was immediately sold! Kammala-Puttalam, 18th February 2016. He was brewing his own English stuff sitting in the dust on the side of a busy road, a true gentlemen. It was four o'clock after all. Puttalam-Anuradhapura, 19th February 2016. And 'you have wife and children? Kandy-Nuwara Eliy...

Switzerland 2004 ~ Gianni Filippini Cycling
http://giannifilippinicycling.blogspot.com/2013/06/switzerland.html
Saturday, August 7, 2004. Time for another cycling trip which was going to take me from Geneve all the way to my hometown of Rovereto in Italy. The route mostly crossed through Switzerland and entailed several high cols to climb including Stelvio on the italian border at 2758 metres, the second highest motoring pass in Europe. This trip was taken at the height of summer probably the only time when it is possible to enjoy riding over 2000 metres wearing shorts. Geneve - Chamonix, 30th July 2004. Not needi...
