My Random Otter Thoughts. Friday, October 01, 2004. All Otters, Great and Small. So, my profile picture is of the Asian small-clawed otter. They're the smallest kind of otter and are able to catch food with their hands instead of their mouth. They get to be up to 3 feet long, from nose to tip o' their tail, and don't weight that much either! In contrast, the Giant Otter can get up to 6 feet in length and up to 70 pounds!
