This is just to say…. Posted by Conan on May 26th, 2010 filed in Fun and Games. Hi there. Remember me? I used to blog here. Anyway, thought I’d stop in really quick to enlighten you folks with this fine video. Ghostbusters. And libraries. Do I really need to say any more? Mail (will not be published) (required). Monday's Great Read for Kids - Tongue-tied edition. | Literary Gibberish

http://gibberish.sidewhites.com/2010/02/mondays-great-read-for-kids-tongue-tied-edition

Monday’s Great Read for Kids – Tongue-tied edition. Posted by Conan on February 22nd, 2010 filed in Books. Today’s reading recommendation comes with a warning. So be warned – trying to read this book too fast, too soon will only result in heartbreak. But if you take it slow you will eventually win acclaim for your verbal virtuosity and win the unending love of your young one. Yes, I’m talking about that old classic from old Mr. Geisel himself –. Undaunted, Fox continues to up the ante until Knox finally ...

Creative Mayhem | Literary Gibberish

http://gibberish.sidewhites.com/2010/07/creative-mayhem

Posted by Conan on July 21st, 2010 filed in Ramblings. We’ve all had the experience – a program crashes, customer service shuts off your internet instead of downgrading your cable. You can’t access your checking account. And, depending on temperment, circumstances, etc. we handle these situations with grace, aplomb, frustration, resignation or rage. The best of these I have seen lately come from one Garrett Murray. And I include a sample entry:. 1 one of my many failings. 2 again, guilty. Life on the Farm.

Friday Fun 'n' Games - Plants vs. Zombies | Literary Gibberish

http://gibberish.sidewhites.com/2010/03/friday-fun-n-games-plants-vs-zombies

Friday Fun ‘n’ Games – Plants vs. Zombies. Posted by Conan on March 19th, 2010 filed in Fun and Games. Zombies are all the rage these days. Don’t believe me? I generally ignore the mania for the undead, but in the realm of gaming I have, alas, succumbed. To wit – Plants vs. Zombies. The irrationally addictive game from our good friends at Pop Cap. Not only do I tend to avoid zombies, I also dislike, nay, loathe tower defense games. But I guess the Devil. 1 Or perhaps the Zombie. From the Inter Tubes.

Thursday, February 11, 2010. 92 Organize all my printed pictures in photo albums and/or scrapbooks. Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Thank you, Blizzard 2010! I am 25 years old, and I have never in my life seen so much snow. This is Virginia, people, but a few pictures would make you think it was more like Alaska. I have not been to work in 5 days, mostly due to the fact that my car looks something like this (note: we have gotten about a foot more snow since the picture was taken):. Sunday, February 7, 2010.

Wednesday, January 2, 2008. Go on a cruise. Learn to grill meat. Take a road trip and stop along the way to take photos. Learn to play the guitar. Pay off my credit card. Finish the quilt I started for T. Read a classic lit book that I haven’t read before. Start a scrapbook documentation of this list. Make a conscious effort to eat more slowly for a week. Write a letter or card once a week for a month. Go on a picnic. Go on a hike. Go back to school. Concoct my own cocktail. Get a professional massage.

101 in 1001: 76. Go to the zoo

http://nerd-alicious.blogspot.com/2010/06/76-go-to-zoo.html

Thursday, June 3, 2010. 76 Go to the zoo. There is just something about the zoo that makes me smile. I just can't walk through the zoo without feeling about 8 years old again. And with the National Zoo practically in my backyard I had no reason to go. So on my long Memorial Day weekend, I set out with a friend into one of the first sweltering hot days of the year and headed to the zoo. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friday, August 14, 2009. 94 Have a yard sale and donate everything that doesn't sell. And so, in preparation for the upcoming move into my own place in the city (woohoo! I decided it was time to clean out the storage unit. No point in moving stuff that I wasn't going to use. Add to that the fact that my free weekend coincided with the annual Route 11 Yard Crawl (quite the event), I decided to go for it. So I slapped on some price tags and set up shop with my aunt and grandmother for the day.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009. 95 Take a random art or dance class for fun. And I have totally opened up Pandora's box. After some exploring in downtown Alexandria, I discovered this neat little bead store. So I signed up and after two hours I had an array of earrings which I plan to give to my sister and all her roommates for Christmas (thus the blue and orange, UVA colors). I then took my new found skills home and made some wine charms for a friend for her birthday. 5 Travel to Colorado. Complete 101 prese...

Friday, July 30, 2010. 23 Hail a taxi. Two years ago when I was living the country life, I'm not sure there even were taxis in my town. Now, however, living in the D.C. metro area, I have taken my fair share of taxi rides. But, they are always schedule rides, with the little yellow cab waiting out front for me at my specified time of arrival. I had never actually hailed a taxi. It was quite the moment. I had no trouble hailing the taxi, but I also seemed to be cheesing it up more than my normal smile...

Sunday, May 30, 2010. 15 Go on a picnic. After kayaking for a few hours, I was ready for some sustenance. Enter, picnic time! So this might not be the most glamorous picnic feast, but it has a bit more character. Except for a couple obvious items (Laughing Cow Cheese and peanut butter), everything was bought that morning at the local farmers' market. We had lots of fruit, some veggies, and a delicious loaf of bread that was all fresh and delicious. Happy Memorial Day, weekend! 45 Float the river. So, whe...

An MLIS student I know recently asked me to provide a “brief but insightful” response to the following question:. What are the implications for leadership in those organizations in terms of organizational structures, staffing, and managerial behavior?

Saturday, November 24, 2012. Thanksgiving left. Now it's the official start of the holiday season. Bought the tree and decorated. Friday, December 24, 2010. Monday, August 02, 2010. Gibberish and Drivel

Sometimes you just have to hit the screw harder. July 16, 2011. It's been almost a week, and I feel nothing has changed. I cannot recall feeling so negative for so long. I realize that not sharing the causes leaves this somewhat dry and whiny. But the details are just too fresh and bring out too much pain. All of this bleakness makes finding bright spots easier. They are few and far between. And mostly intangible. But, I know they are out there. The glass still has something in it. Saturday, July 16, 2011.
