Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Wee Davie is currently running around the room with a rattling ball. He is having the time of his life chasing it, batting it, carrying it. He's playing. Playing is great. Why do we so often give up play as adults? We all know how important playing is. These last couple of days, I've been playing. I've been playing dress-up 1920s style with my new hat, knitted by my friend S (seriously, how adorable is this hat? I couldn't do gymnastics. Tuck and roll? Sunday, August 28, 2011.

Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Okay, so we don't really have Thanksgiving in Australia. I still love the concept. Perhaps because I love pumpkin and yams. So, when Thanksgiving whirled around last week and I happened to have the day off, I decided to make a Thanksgiving feast and prepared a marathon of Thanksgiving episodes (Buffy, Chuck, Gilmore Girls.). I made roast turkey drumsticks with roasted pumpkin and potatoes and then whipped up a salad, which I've dubbed "Romancing the Salad". This is the stuff!

Thursday, June 30, 2011. Old Magazines and Puppies. I couldn't resist this 1916 copy of The Modern Priscilla. Look at the expression on the lady's face - that is one knitter you don't mess with! I also couldn't resist some 1917 and 1918 editions of La Femme Chez Elle. I asked the wee one if he'd like to be a cover dog. Sunday, April 10, 2011. I had a birthday. It was a big birthday. It was such a big birthday, it needed rainbow cupcakes. Making the rainbow cupcakes was half the fun. It is very cool to have multiple bowls of brightly coloured cake mix. How good all that food colouring actually is for you is another question that need not be considered when making rainbow cupcakes for your birthday. Look at the cute cupcakes! June is flying by! Sunday, June 15, 2008. I had the best weekend. Friday night I hung out at the house and went to bed early! Saturday we decided not to go camping and Mikel and I cleaned up at the house! We did lot's of dishes. We played Everquest and went to the grocery store.
